Valuating Bodis traffic

Ok, so here's the deal. As I look to purchase more traffic domains for my portfolio I'm finding some issues with valuating Bodis traffic.

As you know Bodis recently ramped up their antifraud and other measures which resulted in significant drops in revenue over the last week.

However I see people asking for 12 months revenue from their Bodis parked domains, using last month as the standard for the revenue.

So my questions are this.

First of all how do you think we should evaluate the bodis revenue for domains? I've been simply using the last weeks revenue for the domains I'm interested in and then calculating out a year from that.

Alternatively how do those without 100% revenue share at bodis value the domains? Clearly if you are at a "non 100%" parking you won't see the same revenue as those at Bodis.

Thoughts?

I was actually asking myself these same things as I am also looking to start adding more traffic domains to my portfolio. I am lucky that I have the 100% rev share so I don't have to worry about that. Taking revenue from the last week seems to make the most sense to me.

I personally think you should evaluate it on a one month basis, as I feel one week is too short. Although my portfolio is probably not a good example, what I notice is that I may have a dry spell over a few days followed by a few decent days. My August and September revenues were identical, but my October revenue is about 40% down in relation to the same period last month. Only at the end of this month can I say if it's bad or not, even though at the moment I do notice a downward trend. Lets wait and see. Isn't there an American saying that goes something like "The game ain't over till its over" or something like that.

I've noticed a lot of people trying to push off their domains with bodis stats over the last few weeks. I'm sure you already know just as they do but just don't want to admit it. These domains are never going to produce the kind of revenue the inflated stats at bodis showed for the first couple of months. These people are looking for a sucker while the numbers still look good.

By matts own admission as much as 10% of bodis's domains are bieng concidered low quality traffic and are under the microscope. If you buy a domain thats being unloaded now chances are it already has or is potentially getting the "this domain is bad you can't park it here letter."

My own method of valuation. $0 across the board... Don't bother it just aint worth the risk. There are too many good domains out there for sale to take that big a risk.
