How much would you pay?

From what I can tell the domain has always been parked by buydomains.com so no real traffic nor alexa score.

Exact match phrases aren't massive according to the adwords keyword research tool (310 monthly) but obviously would be an idea for an affiliate site with a huge market, and potentially good for some short/long popular key phrases...

How much would you say this domain name was worth? Thanks for any replies.

Do you mean you personally wouldn't pay anything, or you think the domain name is worthless?

What hurts is is the two words in a row that are plural....kids toys

See topkidtoys.com

Might have some worth developed.

hmm thats taken. buydomains tried to sell topkidstoys for $1500, took them down to $900. I know its not worth that much money but of course its a question of getting a domain in the niche, would be nice to find an unregistered domain but in todays world thats simply not possible.

keyword research is promising, google treats "top" and "best" as close synoymns and for many longer tailed keywords "top" is actually the most popular adj, beating "best".

Hmmmmm.

I would most certainly not pay $900 for this domain. I think it's an OK domain, and would buy it (as a reseller) if it fell into the $125 [max] range. If i was planning on developing it, i would spend maybe $250 at the most.

Consider how long it will take you to recover your investment, going under the assumption that you never sell the name and cannot count it towards cost recovery.

Also keep in mind that since you are the end user, $900 might not be a far stretch. If you can afford to lose $900 (don't even rely on a sale to pay back anything, every purchase is a risk until you get repaid) then go for it. You are the end user. I spent 1400 on a domain last week that i think it worth about 800, because i am the end user and it would make a perfect home for my personal site.

Brainstorm what the best names are, for you. Start with bestkidstoys.com, besttoysforkids.com, (etc) and consider if you would take a .net/org/info/ws. Come up with a list of about 20 or 30 names before you look at a single one of the sites. Check out the websites, see if any are undeveloped. If they are undeveloped and listed on auction sites, ignore that and email the owner directly (unless you like that price). Also, you can go to sedo or other sites and search for "toys", "kids toys" "toys kids" get creative to get an idea of what the domains cost. Search at least 3 auction sites for available names. Use namebio to check prior toys website sales. If you can beat $900 on an other site for your dream name, then take the other name. If you can't, then this is a great deal for you and having done the research, you will feel a lot better commiting to the purchase.

Thanks for the response.

Dont worry I'll be doing my research. I'm not looking to do a small EMD niche site, I want to develop it into an authority "buyers-guide" affiliate site, so getting the right domain is very important so I don't mind spending a bit of cash on it. Have a few others in the pipeline at the moment, but cannot get anyone to let the domain go for under $900.

But thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.
