If owning domains with TM problems are such a problem... why dont they just bann it instead of causing so much trouble later on?

is [www.internetexplorer.cc] parked or hosted? you should host it at Godaddy.com and check out its stats

It can get tiresome at times but I create my own custom "parked" pages for most of my domains. They reside on my managed server so I can a) track detailed stats which is what I need b) allows me to cross promote my other domains c) helps to bolster the backlinking for my "for sale" domains and last but not least d) I can place my Google AdSense code on these pages (I trust AdSense much more than Sedo, DomainHop or AfterNIC parking. Pays much, much better than those other places too.)

well what are the stats for such a .cc domain like "inter. explo.cc" (not going to write the whole thing... we should edit the TM'ed domains we listed in this discussion)

do you get a lot of type-in's?

Type in traffic is OK. It makes enough with _Ad_Sense that it easily justifies the reg fee so I'm going to hang onto it until the right buyer comes along. Could be 2 months or 10 years: I really don't mind waiting  I think one should only get into this domain game if one has patience, know what I mean, jelly bean?

oh i def know what you mean... a lot of people expect to buy and sell the next day. what people dont know is that the internet is getting massive... if you wait...anything will be worth more later....

good to know you are good to go with your domain...its always good to make reg fee or more...so you know if youend up selling it... its like a bonus :)

do you own any other domains?

Are you kidding? I'm a full fledged addict! Luckily I was offered a 2% interest deal with one of my credit card companies so I don't have to sell my first born in order to hold all these domains:

http://www.afternic.com/names.php?u=12417&ref_id=12417

They are all listed on AfterNIC. I like AfterNIC as opposed to the other domain marketplace websites because listing in their database is very easy and intuitive. I don't have time to mess around with too much configuration nonsense; I'd rather spend my time sniffing out more domains ;)

I recently transferred GoogStock.com, GoogEngine.com, and GoogIPO.com over to Google. I regged them on the 1st day that "goog" was announced as the ticker symbol for Google stock. It was the first, and only, time that I had regged names for the express purpose of capitalizing on somebody elses name. Ticker symbols are fair game, TM-wise, but after thinking about it, I decided that I already had more names than I knew what to do with, and that this really wasn't my game. I approached them, they were very nice, yet very firm about their unwillingness to pay 1 cent more than what my reg fees had been. So, I just transferred them over, but did manage to wiggle a cool T-shirt out of them. :)

that was a smart move... did you go to them yourself you said? did you think about selling them to someone who would buy them and give them the risk? i think thats what i would have done... but im sure you just wanted to get them off your hands

There are some risks worth taking in this game, IMO.

Ticker symbols are fair game, as you have already noted, so if I were you I would have held onto them. I'm certainly not interested in trading my names for a nice t-shirt. These big corporations are cash rich so don't feel sorry for them. You are just out there trying to make a profit, just like them. As long as you play fair, it's all good, IMO (as always.)

I'm cool w/ that, and more power to you. It's just a tomato-tomawto thing as far as I'm concerned.

Actually, I had put them up on eBay and they pulled the auction at Googles request. That's when I contacted Google. There was never a threat involved, I liked the way they were handling things, and I wasn't really sure what I would do w/ them, anyways. However, I am fairly confident that I would have won the legal battle if it would have gotten to that. If they had been pricks, it probably would have gotten to that.

Yeah, the "culture" over at Google is truly excellent, IMO. I've had some disagreements with them over some _Ad_Sense issues but they never got nasty, aggressive, threatening or anything like that. The "culture" comes from the top down I think. The founders are a couple of smart, enlightened dudes, the kinda' guys I would have hung out with in college.

Let's see how long it last. They may go the way of Yahoo! where the geek founders get rich and fade into the background (or leave altogether) and let the wolves take over the company.

im pretty sure google is the same as yahoo now as in rank if not its pretty close. I think you should have kept them... but im not going to dwell on it. It makes youthink of how many people are out there that would give up a domain for no fight at all... and how many domains you can get your hands on from people who are too worried to keep them...

Dwayne like we were talkign ab b4...things cant happen over night... trust me... you will work your way up.
