Xbox domains & tm issues

Hey all,

I've noticed a lot of xbox domains are around, and some of them have been live for many years. Does microsoft not even worry about xbox domains because of free publicity or people owning these domains are just lucky? I have reg'ed a xbox domain myself however I am probably letting it drop in a year based on what I have read about microsoft's TM actions.

They have a bunch of xbox related domains on their own site (linking to fansites) so I really don't think its a problem. I own one and haven't had any problems

i dont think they care, its like free promotion for them so they should be happy, as long as they have xbox.com and xboxlive.com its alll G for them

It would really depend on how you used the domain. Most companies do not mind as long as it is not slagging their product and that it cannot be confused with the official sites.

Companies bother more when it is used in bad faith.

If the company needed the domain for something then I'm sure they could have their way with you. But other than that it's yours.
