Grrilla said:I recently transferred GoogStock.com, GoogEngine.com, and GoogIPO.com over to Google. I regged them on the 1st day that "goog" was announced as the ticker symbol for Google stock. It was the first, and only, time that I had regged names for the express purpose of capitalizing on somebody elses name. Ticker symbols are fair game, TM-wise, but after thinking about it, I decided that I already had more names than I knew what to do with, and that this really wasn't my game. I approached them, they were very nice, yet very firm about their unwillingness to pay 1 cent more than what my reg fees had been. So, I just transferred them over, but did manage to wiggle a cool T-shirt out of them.![]()
I'm cool w/ that, and more power to you. It's just a tomato-tomawto thing as far as I'm concerned. There are some risks worth taking in this game, IMO
Actually, I had put them up on eBay and they pulled the auction at Googles request. That's when I contacted Google. There was never a threat involved, I liked the way they were handling things, and I wasn't really sure what I would do w/ them, anyways. However, I am fairly confident that I would have won the legal battle if it would have gotten to that. If they had been pricks, it probably would have gotten to that.did you go to them yourself you said? did you think about selling them to someone who would buy them and give them the risk? i think thats what i would have done... but im sure you just wanted to get them off your hands
