Lets have a review of 2006's landrushes and the overall impact on the reseller market:
First, it seems like the landrushes of cctlds didn't have much effect on the reseller market. Their effect is minimal so lets ignore them.
First we shall start off with the good old .EU:
http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/202219-eu-is-going-to-grow-huge.html?highlight=.eu
Hmm.... lets see some outrageous claims from no doubt an .eu enthusiast (like all enthusiasts biased and of course fairly new).
My Opinion Thread (Sure to draw lots of .eu enthusiasts flamers - Where are they now to be heard??)
http://www.namepros.com/domain-name...already-a-complete-failure.html?highlight=.eu
including this comment:
So lets do a little timelining shall we (is timelining even a word? i guess not :yell: ):
Hmmm .EU was launched (landrush) on the 7th of April. Within the first week over 30 + threads were launched in "Namepros Discussion" about the .EU and how it will succeed :yell: . The next 3 weeks around another 30 threads.
After That?!? 22 Threads in 3 months (hype died anyone). And then after 9/20/06 ZERO threads till hmmm DECEMBER. What happened!?!? .EU fall off the map!?? Not many sales reported either hmmm!! A NN.eu sold on pool for only $2,XXX. Very close to what a nn.com would sell for :sold:
Quite Coincidentially what happened during the period of absense came along a new TLD :o . A new hype was born! Oh boys!
So when will the hype stop you ask?!? When the next tld comes out, which happens to be ".ASIA". Which no doubt people will proclaim as the next big thing. But something else may be coming out soon that may start a war between the two "mobile extentions". Whats that you say?
.TEL is coming, .TEL is coming. Now everyone may be wondering what the f is .TEL used for.

Uhh??!?! Two extentions for the mobil internet?!?! And YES this application was approved by ICANN in may 2006.
So in review, i hope you guys make SMART investments and DON'T piss away money in the heat of the moment. Poor .EU'ers
. At least the owner of sex.eu is pretty happy

.eu will grow strong. (a lot more than the .biz, .info, .net, and .de)

The purpose of .Tel is to provide individuals and businesses a text-based naming and navigation structure for the Internet communications space
