Palmer Luckey. Zuck caught lying.
I don’t know the story of that one individual, but Cruz’s line of questioning was way off base. It’s illegal to ask someone’s political leanings or activity on a job interview, as it should be. He’s gotta know that.
A professional can and will do their job correctly regardless of their personal opinions. I may not personally like all of my clients, I’m still going to do the very best job I can for them.*
Instead of questioning to get information, Cruz was trying to force a narrative that conservatives are “victims” on FB.
Not so much.
Some real Facebook stats:
Information below is from FB demographic data provided to marketers via the audience builder tool in the advertising platform. (Screenshots and markup by a fellow marketing pro.)
Users classified as conservative comment on Facebook posts 83% more than those identified as liberals. They also like 36% more and share about 200% more posts, comment more frequently, and click on more ads...
So this shows that far from being censored and suppressed, conservatives are highly active and engaged on Facebook.
(There are more users classified as liberal overall, but they are not as active. Interestingly, they are more likely to access via mobile devices only, but that’s not important to this conversation.)
If you have a FB account, you can go into the advertising area and view this data yourself. Or compare “very conservative” to “very liberal” if you want.
Also, here’s a look at the most popular pages - as determined by page likes by category - on FB (last 30 days? 90 days?) among all active US Facebook users, 18+. There is definitely strong conservative presence - even a right leaning skew - among the most popular pages.
