Perhaps antagonism is the 'American Way', possibly as a result of enjoying a relatively unchallenged era of global dominance, and more recently with Trump on steroids; however, as we enter a new era of multi-polarity, that paradigm is changing...

While PM Carney may be one of the key players, admittedly, the catalyst behind the global shift has been Trump's America First agenda, policies and practice. Trump hasn't learned from history nor is he capable of admitting that his ideas are wrong, a lesson that Europe understands and hopefully will never forget - the ideas that make it go bankrupt in more ways than one: fascism, nationalism, populism...
