What Obama did was not good. But if you want to compare reactions to events, what Bush did after being told of planes crashing into the WTC and that "America was under attack" was not his finest hour either.

Nope, not really interesting in comparing the current President's priorities with jinned up responses about a fellow who has been retired for six years; we've been over this.

Just pointing out the priorities of the current President.

Right, but can you point to somewhere on the internet where you expressed the same issues with Bush, as you did Obama? You're not interested in comparing because it would point out the hypocrisy of most Conservatives or Obama haters.

And when the beheading took place, he was already on vacation. Not a good look, I agree, but it wouldn't have changed anything.

As far as Gilsan's quotes, no shortage of Bush quotes on Islam as well, most you would have issue with.

With that video, again, show me a link to somewhere on the internet where you had an issue with that. He took more vacations, a lot more. Fact. In a time after 9/11. When all kinds of military action was ongoing.

Knowing full well, there is always something going on. Do you have an issue with Presidents taking vacations, playing golf, etc.? Yes or No.

"Just pointing out the priorities of the current President."

And I'm just pointing out this isn't a real issue to you, if it was, you would pointed it out with the last President as well. I remember stories like this:

Down on the Ranch, President Wages War on the Underbrush

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/30/AR2005123001326.html

One time, a full month hanging out at the ranch?

Personally, I think they all take too much vacation. They have all the time in the world after they're done being President, going on their book tours.

As if you know any of his priorities. I'm waiting for you to blame him for the rescue attempt that failed.

What did you do after hearing of the beheading? Something positive like starting a money drive for his loved ones, or something like making confectionaries? Would you be complaining if Obama was sitting down for dinner with his family when he got the news? Besides, how can any of us eat knowing of the kids that will die tonight from starvation?

Bad things happen, but the world doesn't stop when anyone dies. What makes an American reporter any more important than any of scores of normal people that are beheaded everyday for no reason at all? Where's your outrage for them?

Of course you don't want to talk about fellow conservative Bush, but closing your eyes and plugging your ears doesn't protect you from ugliness.

BTW, why is their site slightly warped? because you don't like it, or because you don't like the content in it.

Since I don't know the site I can't make a judgment

It doesn't take much effort to see why the site is warped, starting with the original reason for replying to your post, plus the hypocrisy they spread in the name of religion. They profess to strictly follow the Bible, yet they intentionally post bigoted falsehoods. They are dishonest in taking the quote they used out of context to make Obama haters like you just read the quote and nod your head in agreement instead of reading the entire speech that was just the opposite. Warped because they believe the "end" is here now. Warped because they preach the purity of worship but run ads for Bank of America. Warped because they profess to hate all things not considered democratic or capitalistic and don't realize the conflict. Warped because they print crap that isn't true and try to justify it by religion. Warped because they say they hate socialism, yet they close their 'About Us' with a reference to the pledge of allegiance written by a socialist minister. And this is just the minor stuff. They pat themselves on the back for only using the 1611 version of the King James Bible, yet believe in the rapture, a concept introduced by John Darby in 1830. (There is no word "rapture" in the King James Bible.) and on it goes. They believe it's religion that is going to make things right again in the world and don't give any thought to the possibility that religion is responsible for how bad they claim things are today. It's a joke.

:-o WOW, you know a lot about this website. From what you tell me you've read tons of their warped articles. That explains why you are a warped Loonie Liberal. Too much time spent on warped sites.

So what can you tell us about the warped Religion of Peace. Oh, sorry, I almost forgot that you get really upset when I talk or criticize them 'cause you always come rushing in to defend them, so I'm gonna provoke you again (below)

Yeah, what a loony thing to do - Read sites to understand them before judging them or passing on the nonsense they may be pushing.

I don't get upset when you talk about Islam. I get upset when you knowingly (or ignorantly) post stuff that is wrong, stereotypical or just plain silly. The quote you gave above is a good example. You provide part of a verse out of context for no reason at all. It means nothing as you have it, but I can only assume you want people to think it means killing Christians or something. It's just like the Obama quote you posted without ever reading what it was taken from. I guess the thing that bugs me the most is that you don't even seem to care whether what you say is true or not.

I don't defend the "Religion of Peace" as you mockingly label it. I simply can't abide by stuff posted in ignorance or posted about a selection of Muslims and applied to all of them, much like you do for liberals.

As for "defending them" in this post, it's not a matter of defending anyone, but more of pointing out that other religions are just as bad.The Qur'an and the Bible are both sadistic and blood-thirsty. How and why people put their faith into teachings of either is disturbing. But I'm guessing only a very low percentage of people have actually read the bible.

"Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death." (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)

" Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children." (Isaiah 13:15-18 NLT)

Got a point. atheists are darn smart. That's why so many successful civilisations have been built by atheist societies. (I'm sure there must be one...)

What did you do after hearing of the beheading?

1. Why would I blame him for attempting to save hostages?
2. I am not the current President, so what I did was not really material to the discussion.

But for point of reference, four minutes after speaking of the horrific beheading of an American journalist, the President was golfing and having a good ole time.

Are you claiming religion helped or hindered successful civilizations?

I assume by successful, you mean current? If so, you're arguing against yourself.

You can say the same thing for just about any subset section of society. Why not any societies of geniuses or miners or artists?

Might even postulate successful civilizations were built according to wealth and the common goal of accumulation of wealth and religion played a part in that.

Humans group. Perhaps religion is part of human evolution. Perhaps in a thousand years (if we're successful enough to still be here), we'll be in another phase where we say, "Remember when ...."

However, I think a quote from RogueWriter might be appropriate:

The multi-hundred years of history for the region basically consists of resisting change for the sake of maintaining theocratic power, which coincidentally allows the regional powers to behead or stone to death women, children and foreign journalists at will. Millions are dead, over the years, from a simple difference of opinion regarding similar religions. Shaking them up a bit by attempting to insert a new political structure was a long shot, but the roi of that long shot - turning the region into a democracy that promoted equality, fair representation, etc., was a shot worth taking. Imagine the effects, 100 years from now if democracy had taken root properly in Iraq? Maybe it was not the correct thing to do. But doing nothing simply means that hundreds of thousands, millions will die over the next generation simply because they do not share religious beliefs with the ones in power.

What a load of bull. How can you ever compare Islam to other religions? There is no comparison possible. Islam has one goal; to dominate the world, turn it into a Sharia State and get rid of all non-believers, either by forcefully converting them or killing them, and the more gruesome the killing the more pleasure they get. And you know what, they are having a lot of success. There are parts of England, Belgium, France, Sweden etc where they practice Sharia Law, where it's a no-go area for non-muslims, and we can thank our useless brainless mostly Liberal Governments here in Europe for this.

Some members of these Governments have admitted publicly that the reason for their open door immigration policies in most EU countries for the past 25-30 years, was to get the vote of these mostly Muslim immigrants. What do you say to that? Is that right? What do all these bastard governments deserve? I know what they deserve and the words I have to say are not pretty to mention here on this forum.

What's worse is that the invasion by Muslims into Europe is not stopping. In fact it's snow balling.

So don't come here and try to compare my Religion (Catholic) to the Religion of Peace. Your'e trying to compare night and day. Some liberals are slowly beginning to see what Islam is all about, but there are still some die-hard, do-gooders who are just too naive to see the writing on the wall.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death." (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)
Since you read so much and know so much. please tell me of one instance where someone was killed for working on the Sabath.

Now give me some quotes from the Quran, especially those nasty, bloody ones. I'm sure you will find tons of them and it will probably take too long too write them all, so just send us the worst top 20... OK?

While I await your answer, here's an interesting picture

"The more gruesome the killing the more pleasure they get." Okay, you've convinced me that you really believe that.

Some members of these Governments have admitted publicly that the reason for their open door immigration policies in most EU countries for the past 25-30 years, was to get the vote of these mostly Muslim immigrants. You can call me a do-gooder or whatever, but I'm not naïve about Muslims. I recognize and abhor the fanatics. I just don't believe the rest are all soul-sucking murderous vermin like you do.

You don't really want to talk about Roman Catholicism, do you?

Wake up and smell the coffee.
Been there; done that.

Since you read so much and know so much. please tell me of one instance where someone was killed for working on the Sabath.
I have no idea, Iwas just quoting the Bible to show you the violence it contained. However, according to the Bible, here's one unlucky guy:

(Numbers 15:32-36)--"Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the sabbath day. 33And those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation; 34and they put him in custody because it had not been declared what should be done to him. 35Then the Lord said to Moses, "The man shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp." 36So all the congregation brought him outside the camp, and stoned him to death with stones, just as the Lord had commanded Moses."

Now give me some quotes from the Quran, especially those nasty, bloody ones. I'm sure you will find tons of them and it will probably take too long too write them all, so just send us the worst top 20... OK?
The Bible and the Qur'an both have their share of vicious verses. In fact, according to a somewhat informal count found online, the Bible has 842, the Qur'an 333, but since the Bible contains many more pages, the percentage is 2.7% for the Bible and 5.3% for the Qur'an. Both religions have horrific histories, though and are responsible for millions of gruesome deaths.

While I await your answer, here's an interesting picture

The road to Mecca, eh? I have not spent much time in Saudi, but that would be consistent with their culture, just as on signs their language is always printed before English.

Then why are the rest quiet about the barbarities committed by the fanatics. They're too shit scared to say anything against the religion of peace, otherwise they'll get their throats slit.

I take their silence on not standing up against Islamic fanatics as either being in agreement or simply being cowards that won't stand up against injustices.

OK, fair enough, you did find ONE case where a man was ordered to be put to death for working on Sabbath day.... 2000 YEARS AGO :-o :-o

Verbster, we're not talking 2000 years ago, we're talking NOW. Islam is taking violent passages from the Quran and applying them NOW in 2014, all over the world.

I can't believe how naive Liberals can be

The main difference between both books is that the followers of the Quran, abide rigorously by the book in this day and age. In other words, they still live in the stone age.

So once again, trying to compare Islam with any other religion is like comparing Day to Night.

Political correctness gone mad in the UK. From sex abuse gangs to jihadis, the State's fear of seeming 'racist' is letting evil thrive,

These Liberal idiots in power allowed 1600 mostly white underage girls to be groomed, raped and trafficked during 16 years by a gang of Pakistani muslims, because authorities feared accusations of racism, thus putting far greater emphasis on maintaining the image of successful diversity, than on protecting children.

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/a...racist-letting-evil-thrive.html#ixzz3BiQGCGaK

What's also infuriating, but not surprising, is that leaders of the Muslim community knew what was going on, talked about it in the mosques, but never condemned it and never informed the Police. Typical.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...igious-leaders-talked-mosques-not-police.html

How about some political correctness for the Native English people and their children for a change

Okay, after reading how you believe 1.6 billion Muslims are living in the stone age, and how they all sit around trying to think of the most gruesome ways to kill non-believers, I have no words to voice my disbelief, so I'm taking the easy way out and becoming a Gilsanite. All Hail Lord Gilsan!
