Now, maybe a better analogy for the fanatic left would be to use another sport. Bush may be retired, and Romney's golfing ability may be untested, but Obama has had more time to work on his golf game, so that would be a safe framework to go with. Oh, sore subject, that. Bet he doesn't play another round until after the election. So, no golfing analogies. Hmmm, let's see.
Soccer? Obama is probably pretty good at that, but that might remind people that he grew up on another continent, because frankly soccer just isn't quite in that top tier of popular sports in the U.S. . Don't get me wrong; played it in high school, loved the game, but we are trying to come up with a positive analogy that most in the U.S. would appreciate. So, no soccer analogies.
Football? Maybe. Obama might even be able to take Romney in a game of football, if they used pads. There are many aspects of football that could be used in trying to make a point, pass interference, illegal shifts, fumbles, 4th and goal, a plethora of ways in which you could make digs on Obama's behalf. So maybe an occasional nod to the football analogy would work.
Basketball, certainly, Obama prides himself on his game, so how 'bout a reference to half time, overtime, help defense, full court press, a three pointer, nothing but net, THAT is a sport folks could associate with an Obama Presidential run.
But a baseball analogy? Obama just can't get it over the plate, perfect summary of his Presidency. Fail.
