And your complaints about President overturning abortion, Supreme Court etc. well, they're the ones that keep feeding the sheep about that possibility. Maybe you should have a talk with your own party?

What happens to all these kids? Probably will go into the system, more welfare, more crime, more problems.

There is an interesting counterintuitive essay, with stats, about exactly this in the book Freakonomics. It seems to correlate wider availability of abortion with falls in crime, and asks if abortions prevented unwanted, neglected children who cause problems for society.

I have a problem because it's NOT a Right at all... To suggest that it's a "Right" is to suggest the Supreme Court has been correct on all of it's major decisions.. Was the Supreme court correct on the Dred Scott case on slavery?

It's funny, Ask any Liberal if Gore VS Bush was the right decision and the answer would be a resounding NO.. But yet Roe V Wade was correct.

If the Supreme Court were to rule in NAMBLA's favor that Men had a "Right" to sodomize underage boys making it legal to do so, would that make it a right? Would you say that society does absolutely nothing to protect boys because the court ruled it was legal?.

And what was the other "Right" you claimed? Oh yeah, a Woman's right to do what she want's with her own "body".. Since when does a woman's body have two beating hearts, two blood types, two heads, four eyes, four arms, and four legs? And what if she's pregnant with a Boy? Does she now have a penis?

There is no race card being played, it was a straight question. I asked you both about straight marriage and interracial marriage. I brought up interracial marriage because that was against the law at one time as well. You hide behind you have to pay for it as a reason, well you don't have to pay for straight or interracial? It's a pathetic cop out on your part when I think we both know the real reason why, you have some issue/problem with gays.

And far as the rest of your post, you bring up some stuff we're not even talking about. I'm not sure how much more simpler I can make this for you. These are my own views, not any of that other stuff you mentioned. It's very simple. If something was growing inside of my body, I get to decide what happens with that, not the government. That's it, that's my belief. You disagree with that, that's fine. You're not going to change my mind on that. Clear?

What? National healthcare should be outlawed because the government does not have the right to mandate people buy a product? Wow. If one needed proof that Republicans are unfit to govern anybody but themselves... this is it.

I mean, why base a national governance decision on a conservative set a factors, or factor in this case, when a more liberal view reveals other factors to base a decision on?

In this case, the issue of the government's role in public healthcare is clear, and undeniable.

Because the government mandates involuntary exposure to pollutants, through permits, in air, water, land and food, from the manufacture of products... a national healthcare plan is responsible governance.

Republicans are essentially saying... You can have the byproduct, but not the product. We will poison you, and not offer healthcare. You can have the disease, but not the cure.

To fight against healthcare all the way to the Supreme Court; to lose, and then vow to still take healthcare away from tens of millions; Shamelessly unfit to govern, anybody but themselves.

And then theirs Obamacare, another intrusion into our life that says we MUST ALL purchase Private health Insurance or else, For the first time in American history our Government created a law that requires all of us to purchase something from a PRIVATE company.. And we should note that it passed withOUT one Republican vote... ALL Democrats, All progressives.

You seem to be thinking of a single payer model.
That's not what this is. This is a crazy hybrid compromise that leaves very few people happy - repubs or democrats.

Its still contains too much corporate interest for both the left and the libertarians (kind of ironically, imho). Im not sure what the issue is from the majority right.

Right now, from what little i have read, China is instituting a better overall healthcare policy.

But, yes, an estimated 26 million will NOT be covered by what we ended up with. A lot of apples got kicked-out of the cart, as the Repubs tried to tip it over.

So Obama pushed it as far down the road as he could, for now. If he wins, I think he will go after any corporate abusers -as the plan unfolds.

As far as "very few happy - repubs or dems". I'm not in That echo chamber.

Why people like Obamacare
People are suspicious of Obamacare in the abstract, but when it gets to the specifics they tend to like it a lot

Fair enough. Most people I know would support a single payer model and thought this compromise wasn't good enough.

There has been argument as to whether the current plan will ultimately fail and will head to a single payer model or go back to where we were.

I'm undecided except that I believe the solution should not shift burden directly to employers.

This thread has a lot in common with the current congress. We defend our views on issues as if theyโ€™re the only views worth considering, and we are content to stay at loggerheads rather than give the slightest consideration to the merits of another point of view. The difference is that while nothing really depends on the outcome of our opinions, congress holds the fate of a nation in theirs. Unfortunately, they too seem to be satisfied with an impasse on critical issues. There seems to be no consideration of working to achieve anything beneficial for the country as a whole. Itโ€™s a my-way-or-the-highway kind of thinking, and most are guilty of it. A 12% approval rate doesnโ€™t seem to matter. I canโ€™t help but wonder why.

Itโ€™s a good lesson for us, though. How is congress going to get out of the muddy hole theyโ€™ve dug for themselves and dragged us into? How would you get out? What would it take to cross party lines to stand up for whatโ€™s right, even if itโ€™s only a small part of bigger issue? What would it take to compromise a little on both sides? Or would you do the same nothing as our current congress and be happy that if you canโ€™t get things your way then nobodyโ€™s going to get anything in any way. And then maybe examine your motives. Has our political system traded its duty to โ€œfaithfully discharge the duties of the office on which [they are] about to enterโ€ for something as mediocre as a political stalemate? If so, was it by design, by accident or other motivation? If not, then why are we gridlocked? Whatโ€™s it going to take to regain our focus? Whatโ€™s it going to take to get our congress to fulfill their duty to bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of the United States? After all these words are much more than just words. There's the hope and intent of a new world packed into these wondrous 50 words.

They only deserve to be in one place; behind bars, oh and make some room for the MSM whores... they also deserve to be there, for the crime of misinforming millions of people every day with their pro-Obama propaganda.

A 3rd party and an unbiased Media is what's needed... urgently!

The words "Foreign Policy" and "Romney" in the same sentence scares the living **** out of me. He may be the only presidential candidate in history (at least since Revolutionary war times) to manage to piss off England. That takes a very special lack of diplomatic skills. Letting him open his mouth aruond more challenging heads of state is a recipe for disaster.

Not voting isn't the answer. That just gives away your voice to someone who does.
