I just saw RaiderGirl's Happy Birthday thread, which begs the question...

If a "child's", or a "baby's", life begins after the first trimester, or while in the womb, then why list your birth date, the day you left the womb, as the day your life began?

Of course, a fetus is NOT a "child" or a "baby".

True, a fetus is alive... in the cellular composition sense of evolving living tissue.

But, cellular composition prior to birth is not Life in the full sense of the word --anymore than cellular composition after death is Life.

Afterall, hair, fingernails, and a whole host of living cell activity takes place after death. And some cells, under the right conditions, can "live" for years, after death.
These cells, like a fetus, can also be extracted and brought to life

So are we not dead until we fully decompose?

Life and Death are two sides of the same coin. The standard of life beginning at first breath and ending on the final breath is the standard for virtually All Life on the planet.

No amount of fuzzy logic, bad science, the misuse of terms, religion, or emotional terrorism, is going to change that; but I'm sure some will keep trying.

This from a lurking Republican.. I simply don't have the time to respond to each and every post from you and verbster, I wish I did, because it's quite easy to do, as well as entertaining.....

of course it's easy. I don't ask hard questions. Don't need to as now shown in your flip-flop on your main rant platform. And it's not that you don't have time to answer my simple questions. Look what happens when you finally do. Instead of screaming how abortion is murder, if you would have posted like you finally did here that you actually agree with us immoral liberals that it should be legal in the first three months of pregnancy, then we wouldn't have had this entertaining conversation.

To your question above, if a Woman is in her first trimester, YES, I think she should have the right to abort, and it doesn't matter if she was raped or not, that's my personal view..
Well there you are. After all the accusations of having no morals, after all of your holier than thou statements , it turns out you agree abortion should be legal in the first trimester, just like a liberal does.

The problem with pro abortionists like yourself is that you think it's OK and justified to terminate a pregnancy all the way to LATE TERM, even AFTER the baby is outside the womb, this is where pro-abortionist's lose all their credibility on this issue, It's downright barbaric...

But even after admitting you agree first trimester abortion is okay, that aborting a fetus is no longer murder like you previously claimed, you apparently feel you must have something to make liberals like myself look bad. And what do you do? Talk about using disgusting scare tactics, you make the most absurd and insulting statement I think you've ever made: You accuse the few liberals here of being supporters of late term abortions...and being "okay" with killing newborn babies. I think that's the worst thing I've ever been accused of in my life. Why you would say such a disgustingly awful thing is beyond me. After complaining about conservatives being lumped together, you turn around and label me as someone who thinks it is okay to murder newborn babies? You should be ashamed, but you won't be. So pardon me for not thinking your comments are entertaining.

It's true the majority of Woman want the right to make that choice, but it's a choice that should be made in the EARLY stages of pregnancy.. Your selling a LIE when you say that conservatives want to end abortion as we know it.. I know a lot of conservative Women who feel the same way I do, that it should regulated, that woman should NOT have the right to murder their child anytime they want to... Unfortunately you do.

Geez, you did it again. You admit that abortion is okay in the first three months, then you turn that around and say not only that republicans don't want to end abortions, but you now accuse me of supporting giving the right to mothers to "murder" their child anytime they want to." Are you serious? Anyone who makes statements like that needs mental help immediately.

And your right, it's all about scaring Woman voters in the LIE that Republicans want to END abortion, that they hate Women, that they don't think Women should earn the same wages as Men, but in reality, history proves that it's the democratic party that has been the least favorable to Woman, and Republicans the more favorable...

Democrats successfully hijacked the black vote, and are doing the same with Women vote, problem with Republicans is they allow it happen.[/QUOTE]

Geez. This is sad.

Eh, I'm going to stay out of this thread as well, circles upon circles upon circles. I need to go make money, lol, see ya.

After reading RG's rant, I don't blame you. Besides, the fact that you didn't ever answer my question is a pretty loud answer in itself. And since the other two anti-abortion conservatives in this thread have now said they think abortion is okay as long as it's regulated to their satisfaction, there's nothing left to say.

So now, you're cool with abortion at the beginning, also cool with prostitution. Republican?

NOT "Cool" with either.

For you JB, verbster, eyedomainous and Liberals in general, you really do live in this Black and White world, "If your for the legalization of abortion in the 1st trimester, you cant possibly be a Republican Raider, because ALL Republicans believe in the same thing, you think the same way, your ideology is the same" Really?

And again, your clearly LIED when you stated I wrote that abortion should not be allowed at conception, I was going to discount it as a mistake on your part, but since you try to cover up the LIE, I'm calling if for what you made it... You cherry pick a sentence and take what I wrote out of context, Liberals are famous for this, When I wrote "early or late term and not have to provide a reason why?" that is not saying abortion should not be allowed, it is stating that Mothers should provide a reason WHY... Get it?

As for "The Sanctity of Life Act" Where in that act does it call for the de-legalization of Abortion at conception? Point it out to me, because what I read in Ron Paul's Bill is basically what you posted, "Defining human life and legal personhood (specifically, natural personhood) as beginning at conception," Try reading the Bill before you cherry pick it next time OK?
The depths some will go to to cover-up a LIE.

Fact is, I didn't change my view or flip flop on anything, Abortion is MURDER no matter what trimester the Mother is in... In unfortunate circumstances such as rape, incest, and especially child pregnancy, it's a necessary evil for a lot of Women... We have Girls as young as 8 and 9 years old becoming pregnant today, and in cases like these, I believe ALL options should be on the table, Do I think there should be a law that stands in the way of preventing that child and her parents in deciding to abort in the first trimester? NO!

Do I think there should be law that stands in the way of preventing that child and her parents in deciding to abort in the 2nd, 3rd, or later term? YES!..

Does that make me pro-choice or pro-life?.. Since everything is so Black and White, I'll let one of you Liberal numbskulls figure it out.

And I must say I like the way you use the word "Cool", as if Women were having their haircut... Such class,

Tell me, when a Woman carries her baby for 9 months and decides to abort, and her perfectly healthy baby comes out and the doctor has the duty of KILLING the baby, is that "Cool" too?

BTW, What murder weapons do they use in cases like that? RogueWriter's video post of the congressional hearing got me wondering, care to answer JB?

You're so full of it, it's like you have different personalities posting or something.

"Fact is, I didn't change my view or flip flop on anything, Abortion is MURDER no matter what trimester the Mother is in"

with

"To your question above, if a Woman is in her first trimester, YES, I think she should have the right to abort, and it doesn't matter if she was raped or not, that's my personal view.. "

So if you truly believe it's murder no matter what trimester, you're saying you're ok with murder?

"Eighty-eight percent of abortions occur in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, 2006."

So you're ok with 88% of the abortions?

"Where did I say it was "OK"?"

um

"To your question above, if a Woman is in her first trimester, YES, I think she should have the right to abort"

define:ok
An authorization or approval
Used to express assent, agreement, or acceptance

All this time you're acting like you're against abortion when the reality is, you believe a woman has the right to abort in the first trimester, or 88% of abortions. And yes, most Republicans, when it comes to abortion, believe life begins at conception, so do you, hence your supporting Sanctity of Life Act, which says that.

If you truly believe life begins at conception, then you should be against all abortion, period.

just like a liberal does.

LMAO!

The day I think like a Liberal is the day I scratch my eyes out, take a ice pick to my face, poor gasoline all over myself and light a match.

You admit that abortion is okay in the first three months

Where did I say it was "OK"?

Oh wait, I didn't

That's almost as asinine as saying I'm OK with going to War... Who the F is OK with that?

Liberals are word smiths, and your a prime example.

You're so full of it, it's like you have different personalities posting or something.

You know who's really full of it? Liberal hypocrites like you who don't give a rats ass for the unborn and then hold picket signs outside prisons when serial killers are due to be executed.

"Liberals" Killing the innocent while saving the guilty.

So if you truly believe it's murder no matter what trimester, you're saying you're ok with murder?

Did you miss the "necessary evil" part?.. READ my response to Verbster above and maybe, just maybe by some miracle you will get it.

"Liberal hypocrites like you who don't give a rats ass for the unborn"

LOL, I guess you only care about 12% of the unborn, screw the other 88%?

I hate to break this to you, but it seems on social issues, you're a LIBERAL. Welcome.

Being ok with legalizing prostitution and 88% of abortions, isn't exactly Conservative views.

There is no salvation for a large % of brainwashed Liberals. Perhaps a 20 year stint in some far away Gulag, in the coldest parts of the North West coast of Alaska, would help re-generate those damaged grey cells. Initially, in Alaska they could see Russia and dream about socialism, Sodom and Gomorrah, Gays dominating every aspect of life, banning traditional marriage, Obama free phones :talk:-, food stamps forever, unemployment benefits for life. etc. etc.

What a world of good 20 years would do to these Liberals souls without Jon Stewart or Bill Maher to get ideas from, no more MSNBC, “Tingle up my leg” Chris Mattheus, Rachel Maddow, CNN and those heathens at Comedy Central and PBS or MSM or Hollywood movie stars. Perhaps after 20 years of detoxing that Liberal poison out of the system and some Liberal withdrawal symptoms, we might be lucky to bring them back as normal, productive citizens, who then might respect everyone’s opinions. Liberals are destroying everything that is good, common sense and sane in this world.

Funny thing about Liberals: you can lead many of them to the truth, but you cannot get them to see it, admit, or even acknowledge it. They call you racist and homophobic for everything and anything, yet they never mention the fact that 96% of blacks voted for Obama on 2 occasions (in some areas it was a 100% whitewash) and one of the main reasons was because he was black. No sir that's not racism. Only the white man can be racist… right?

Next election the Democrats don’t have even have to worry about the black vote, that’s guaranteed, because they’ll have another 11 million Hispanic votes to count on. The perfect way to win elections; buy your votes with Obama phones, food stamps, unemployment benefits and legalizing 11 million illegals who will vote for you in gratitude, etc.… till the day the Government runs out of money.

Liberals don't want the word Jesus whispered in public schools but they are just fine to teach little confused kids the beauty of homosexual sex and how wonderful it is to have 2 dads and 2 moms. Traditional families???… nahhh… that’s too old fashioned. Gotta think Gay and Progressive.

Another of their favorites when describing how awful the millions of Christians around the world are, is to bring up, as an example, the Westboro Baptist Church with a whopping membership of 40. Let me repeat that; According to Wikipedia, the Westboro Baptist Church has a MEMBERSHIP of 40 PEOPLE. That’s not a bloody church. That’s probably a bloody cult/sect that’s taking advantage of tax exemption status. The IRS must have overlooked them…they were too concentrated on the Tea Party and other Conservative groups.

Oh, and in this thread you have to love how a few of the Liberals, (especially 2 of them, but 1 in particular) are so insistent that everyone must, almost by force, answer their questions. If you don’t answer their questions you are insulted and called all sorts of names. VEE VANT AN ANSWER IMMEDIATELY… OR ELSE..!!!! :yell: VEE VILL SHOOT YOU… UNDERSTOOD???? :yell: Waterboarding? If they could they would.

The Colleges and Universities have already been converted into snake pits of Liberalism for at least 2 generations, now they are concentrating on 5 and 6 year olds to indoctrinate them on how wonderful homosexuals and their lifestyles are and other liberal crap. I imagine that pretty soon schools will start providing kids with dildos and the latest generation of sex toys. That should make a lot of lefties really happy and bring a smile to a few here in this thread. “Good business opportunity and good for the local economy” , some of them will say

Just look at the video of these brainwashed Obama supporters who don't know their ass from their elbow about what’s going on, except for one thing.... they will only vote for their man... Obama, no matter what.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Skw-0jv9kts"]Obama Supporters Actually Hate Obama's Policies - YouTube[/ame]

If that wasn't bad enough, the Obama administration have now gained control of the IRS.... that's a pretty powerful weapon to have on your side. As if it wasn't bad enough having a biased referee (the Liberal Media) already on your side, to help steal elections.

Seems like Obama's half brother, Abon'go Malik Obama got really fast service and was approved by the IRS in record time....Hmmmm.... must have gotten a helping hand from his famous brother. See link below for more details:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...c53e8a-be57-11e2-89c9-3be8095fe767_story.html

The IRS, the Liberal Media and the Democrats were able to hide the truth from the American people just long enough to make it through last year’s Presidential election. The idea was to win, by hook or by crook. They won, by crook

Fast & Furious, Solyndra, Pickford, ACORN, Benghazi, IRS, AP; how many more scandals are needed before the media gets outraged by a corrupt DEMOCRAT President?

It only took one scandal (Watergate) when it was a corrupt REPUBLICAN President.

Debating with Liberals is like debating with a brick wall... A VERY THICK BRICK WALL.

Democrats usually get that vote. Plus, you have said homophobic and racist stuff on your own.

"buy your votes with Obama phones"

We already went over that before, that program started under Bush:

http://www.factcheck.org/2009/10/the-obama-phone/

http://www.examiner.com/article/gop...oes-not-exist-program-started-2008-under-bush

"so insistent that everyone must, almost by force, answer their questions."

That's the difference between some of us here. People like me, have no problem answering questions. Others, like you, run from them. Can't back up the things you say, have no good argument etc.

Most of the other stuff you posted is your usual craziness, went over that before.

Some of the new stuff, that is actually backfiring on the Right:

Benghazi is old news, and the GOP was actually caught doctoring emails:
http://theweek.com/article/index/24...t-calls-out-gop-over-doctored-benghazi-emails

So because of that, they released them all again, making the GOP look stupid

And this:
"In fact, the Obama administration had requested more funding for embassy security—but this was denied by House Republicans to a tune of cuts for embassy funding by $138 million in 2011 and $331 million in 2012."

So Republicans are the ones who actually denied more funding for embassy security.

The IRS is a non-issue. All those ones they looked at actually got accepted, none were denied. Now in the past, the IRS actually denied Democratic ones.

The AP stuff, already went over that a few posts ago - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/geoffrey-r-stone/the-ap-scandal-the-straig_b_3289973.html

"It only took one scandal (Watergate) when it was a corrupt REPUBLICAN President."

And mentioning that, is making the right look stupid to educated Americans. Nixon was directly involved with that. Obama has nothing to do with any of this stuff.

Facts/reality, enemy of the right.

The Republicans have created a monster in the Tea Party, now the Tea Party is taking them apart, going right at Republicans.

Cruz:
“Let me be clear. I don’t trust the Republicans,” Cruz responded. “And I don’t trust the Democrats. I think a whole lot of Americans likewise don’t trust the Republicans and the Democrats, because it is leadership in both parties that has gotten us in this mess.”

What makes you think the Republicans created the Tea Party?

Because they funded their early rallies. They vote for Republicans.

You just have to read the article, first off, right in the title:

"McCain Accuses Tea Party Colleagues Of Pushing Dems Too Far"

Tea Party Colleagues

"At a Tea Party rally last month in Texas, Cruz taunted fellow Republicans after the Senate rejected a call for background checks on virtually all prospective gun buyers."

Fellow Republicans.

"McCain referred to newcomers like Paul and Cruz as “wacko birds” and said their fears of drone strikes against Americans were “ridiculous.”

You basically have old guard Republicans like McCain and these new Tea Party Republicans, who want adherence to the Constitution, really against any compromise.

I somehow got sucked into the conversation yesterday, wasted all kinds of time. My cousin kept posting Tea Party stuff on FB. I got in the convo, got banned, then went to their blog. They have to be some of the craziest people in America. It's where all the Birthers hang out. Read some of the comments on that page, it's typical:

McCain...you're a pile of s h i t. I can't wait 'till your rino heart seizes up so I can dance and p i s s all over your grave.
That got 5 likes.

That group, really ratchets up the hate. Check out their FB page or their site. It's getting a bit out of control, and this is going to reflect badly on the Republicans.

I think the idea at the beginning was they were going to take Obama and Dems apart. Usually when you have protests, it's not good for the man in office. But what happened was, they were going against Republicans as well. More poor strategy from the right.

It's going to absolutely take that party apart unless the Republicans stand up to them now. I think it's too late. Should have never got into bed with them.

Because they funded their early rallies. They vote for Republicans.

And your evidence for this funding is....?

Of course the Tea Party has some commonalities with the Republican Party when the only alternative is the Democratic Party. That doesn't mean they were created by the Republicans, as you claim.

Maybe they're loony, I don't know. But I could pick some pretty nutty and hateful comments off any leftist blog as well (or off CNN for that matter). But it's always easier to call someone a nut or a racist than to actually address their arguments.

The whole political dialog in the US these days is completely unhinged, if you ask me. Amazing that none of the really vital issues (the loss of personal freedom/privacy to an out-of-control and unaccountable government, pending government bankruptcy) are even being addressed. So, for that, I give Cruz credit.

And the thought that the old-guard Republicans will "stand up" to anyone is laughable. Standing up requires principals to stand for.

When they first started popping up, it was on the news. Funded by the RNC.

Address their arguments? That Obama was born in Kenya? Or when they call him the n word? Or he should be tried for treason? Crazy people don't put up any good arguments.

Which news exactly? Could you provide a link? I know it was often claimed by the Dems that it was funded by Republicans rather than a real grassroots event, so I'm sure many people took that claim at face value But I would need to see a verifiable source before I could accept it.

You can go right to the Wikipedia page:

[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_Party_movement"]Tea Party movement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

"In an August 30, 2010, article in The New Yorker, Jane Mayer said that the billionaire brothers David H. Koch and Charles G. Koch and Koch Industries are providing financial and organizational support to the Tea Party movement through Americans for Prosperity, which David founded"

Americans for Prosperity - Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is an American conservative political advocacy group headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.

Another would be FreedomWorks - FreedomWorks is a conservative non-profit organization based in Washington D.C., United States.

An October 2010 Washington Post canvass of 647 local Tea Party organizers asked "which national figure best represents your groups?" and got the following responses: no one 34%, Sarah Palin 14%, Glenn Beck 7%, Jim DeMint 6%, Ron Paul 6%, Michele Bachmann 4%.

After no one, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. 2 nuts.

You really haven't established that the Republicans created the Tea Party, just that there are supporters - as there are in any grass roots movement that gets traction.

Speaking of crazy, it would be crazy for the Republicans to create a group that mostly feels nobody in DC represents their views. Why would they do something like that? It makes no sense to create a party that is hostile to your own interests.

The platform, according to your Wikipedia page is this:

Identify constitutionality of every new law: Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does (82.03%).

Reject emissions trading: Stop the "cap and trade" administrative approach used to control pollution by providing economic incentives for achieving reductions in the emissions of pollutants. (72.20%).

Demand a balanced federal budget: Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax modification. (69.69%)

Simplify the tax system: Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words – the length of the original Constitution. (64.9%).

Audit federal government agencies for constitutionality: Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce that engages in an audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities. (63.37%).

Limit annual growth in federal spending: Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth. (56.57%).

Repeal the health care legislation passed on March 23, 2010: De-fund, repeal, and replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. (56.39%).

Pass an "all-of-the-above" energy policy: Authorize the exploration of additional energy reserves to reduce American dependence on foreign energy sources and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation. (55.5%).

Reduce earmarks: Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a two-thirds majority to pass any earmark. (55.47%).

Reduce taxes: Permanently repeal all recent tax increases, and extend permanently the George W. Bush temporary reductions in income tax, capital gains tax, and estate taxes, currently scheduled to end in 2011. (53.38%).

Now, which of these is a crazy/racist idea? I can see where you might not agree with a few of them, but I don't see any crazy ideas here. In fact, I'm sure there are a few even you agree with. It doesn't even mention immigration, so if you think responsibly managed borders are racist, I'll let you have that one.

"You really haven't established that the Republicans created the Tea Party, just that there are supporters - as there are in any grass roots movement that gets traction."

Ok, the foundation, the money that props them up. It's all from Conservative groups. They are basically all Republicans. This is an article that goes into some of the problems I was talking about:

http://prospect.org/article/three-new-facts-about-tea-party

"Speaking of crazy, it would be crazy for the Republicans to create a group that mostly feels nobody in DC represents their views. Why would they do something like that? It makes no sense to create a party that is hostile to your own interests."

Went over that earlier - "More poor strategy from the right." See the link I posted at the beginning of this post, that goes into it some.

"Now, which of these is a crazy/racist idea?"

More the people in the Party. Again, join their FB page, go to their blog, get into the conversation.

As far as all the issues you listed from Wikipedia, those are basically Ron Paul type stuff. We have a thread dedicated to him here that goes into some of that already, and some of the other less mainstream issues.

It's really a party within a Party. For sake of argument, if you ever had an election where it was Dem vs. Rep vs. Tea Party, Dem would win easily. Any votes for the Tea Party, would just be less votes for Republicans.

Again, using your own reference above from an established left-wing magazine:

"Tea party activists are not Republicans."

and

"...the GOP once hoped to co-opt the movement." (Meaning, of course, that they didn't.)

This is your source, not mine.

So far as the people in the movement being nutters, look around. Most people are ignorant, and many are hateful, regardless of their political views. So it serves little purpose to try to denigrate a movement on the basis of individual personalities involved.

I agree I don't want to go into each detail of their platform here, but you would have to agree there's nothing crazy about it. If you actually do think the ideas are crazy, then nothing said here will convince you otherwise. I juts find it odd that citizens in the country that talks most about freedom have so little of it - and seem perfectly happy to lose even more. That's what I think prompted the Tea Party to form.

Yes, but I actually read beyond the title. You saw this:

"Tea Party activists are not Republicans."

and stopped. But if you read:

"While the number of Tea Party supporters has declined since 2010, they still make up around half of Republicans,"

"Seventy-three percent of Republicans who attended a political rally or meeting identified with the Tea Party. The activists are vehemently anti-Democratic."

"I juts find it odd that citizens in the country that talks most about freedom have so little of i"

I know you find it odd. You're in Japan, so have no idea. And your views on that, we already went thru them in the other thread. Was it you or some other dude that actually said Communist China had more freedom?

"I agree I don't want to go into each detail of their platform here, but you would have to agree there's nothing crazy about it. If"

No, we would not have to agree. Again, went thru that in the Ron Paul thread.

Yes, it was you:

Certainly former Republican voters would be more inclined to join the Tea Party than Democrats, but that doesn't mean the Republican party created the Tea Party, which is where we started. Look the UKIP and the Conservative party in the UK for a similar trend.

Second is an opinion, but one that I stand by. The first is true, so your point is what?
