It's quite likely, though probably won't be a global meltdown. Different countries have other priorities and ambitions, they don't need to rule the world, just make money off of the clowns who would. Of course Putin and Xi are sitting back in their cozy chairs chowing down on ramen, while the hornet nest in the US get's all stirred. It used to be red, white and blue, now I just see either red, white or blue. O_o

Talk of nuclear war is nuts. Even the worst scenario imaginable would be nothing next to a nuclear war. Please put a cap in that thinking.

So far as Russia and China, citizens of those respective countries love their countries - even if they may hate their politicians. Maybe Americans should try loving their country rather than hating each other. And love it for the right reasons, not because you can kill, bully and bomb around the world with impunity.

Just like in previous intifadas, Palestinian casualties will be about 8x more than Israeli casualties and a lot more in infrastructure destruction.... seems like Palestinians never learn.

I very much doubt this would have happened if Trump was in charge...

From your link, Cannuck - the honorable Ilhan Omar:

"It's no surprise that a white supremacist (lie) who incited an insurrection against our government (lie), called Neo-Nazis "very fine people,(lie)" and separated kids from their mothers (lie) would support human rights abuses against innocent kids."

Maybe even a grudging regard for the truth might go a long way toward healing the country. Four lies coming topped with an unsubstantiated charge of child abuse. From a woman whose culture practices clitoridectomies and allows child brides.

Who's paying for all these bombs and fighter jets anyway? Maybe an additional $38B would save lives

China is pumping money into Iran ($400 billion USD at last count), and the Mullahs send it off to Hamas - since apparently the Iranian people don't need it. On the other side, it's the military-industrial complex in the driver's seat, with their boy Biden (and his understudy Kamala). So, China on one side, the US on the other.

As the world falls apart, various nations will use the chaos to let loose, settle old grudges, etc. A little bit of genocide here and there can slip under the radar at such times.

Just like the good ol' days... when were they not in the driver's seat? Don't tell me, peace through deterrance, might is right etc., we've been down that road 1000 times :cautious:

Troops in 100 plus countries is way past deterrence. The irony of it is that China knows the American public will have no stomach at all for real war (and why should they?). So despite all the fancy weapons and troops, there is little the US will do when push comes to shove. On the other hand, ole Joe and Kamala might just might start WW3 to secure reelection.

The military-industrial complex is an institution in the US funded by government interests. The trickle-down effect is no more obvious than in that sphere of influence. Do you know of another country where such a heavily armed population exists?

Nor would it make sense for US to invade China. What would overthrowing their government achieve and how could they possibly manage 1.5 billion more people when they can't even get a grip in their own country? Certainly China will not invade with conventional forces, any fighting will be on the fringes in other countries. Bio-warfare doesn't make any sense either, nobody is immune. China doesn't need to invade US by force, they already have the US by their Made-in-China wallets. Biden won't see a second term, Kamela doesn't have the goods and Trump will just be a spokesman for some puppet IMO. A made-up WW3 may have worked before Covid, but it won't cut the mustard today.

The mindset of the military is to invade other countries is it not? When did armies ever ask permission? Since we're talking WW3, there's no hope in hell US is going to invade mainland China ie. following Japan's example during WW2. Who needs to invade US even? You know Conservatives will be Conservatives, Liberals will be Liberals and Radicals will be Radicals...they're stuck in the box of their own tribal mindset. Much easier to divide, demonize each other, and let them cannibalize. :xf.rolleyes:
