Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

Hi, I couldn't find the answer anywhere... I'd like to know if it is possible to track visitors to my .tel domain. Is there a way to add Google analytics, or does Telnic offers these stats?
Thanks!
AFAIK no. You could use referrals in your links but you would only track the clicks, not the passive visitors.

I have discovered that once your .tel is active on DNS, subsequent changes are almost instantaneous.

;)

To Telnic: Could you add an arrow feature to the keyword function? In other words, If you want to paragraph your keywords and put them in a specific order, you can't.

What's more, the individual modules seem to jump around when you refresh the page (???).

Thanks.

I would make one suggestion: at the specific school or business, you do not need to add a link to a map; that URL is a killer. Just activate the map provided by Telnic (on the right panel).

Thanks, but I wish it could't show lat. and longitude. Great for ocean traveling, though

On this restrictive platform, not only is that impossible, it's nothing more than a pipe dream with zero chance of success. .TEL is intended as a single contact point for individuals or business, not directories. Sorry, but let's get real here. IMO.

Not to mention that the web is already flooded with directories of all sorts. I actually don't believe it's a very profitable niche.

We'll have to wait and see but there will certainly be .TEL directories of all kinds whether you like it or not, some that do well and some that dont. I think the GEO's are the best ones and if you can get your local city/town, it makes it that much easier. I think you will find most directories are started and once the hards work begins, most will just sit there half-finished. I think a couple of mine might end up like that if I dont stick to one and really stuck into it.

I may have to sell the others and focus on one :)

It's an untried untested unusual extension but always worth putting your toe in the water to get feel for things- accordingly a few dollars have gone from my pocket.

But in terms of a whole body soaking it looks like Mr Lam http://dottel4sale.blogspot.com is really top of the pile- unless you know any better :?

A stunning waste of cash in the current market, or at any time- $8K+ :? - could have picked up some real gems. Ricky- I have some good .cn :gl:

Any others that may make the "worst domain investment " list :? IM-HO.com

Good point ... Sedo is one of the most widely manipulated mechanisms for the "reporting of sales" - especially with new and newer extensions seeking to create the illusion of legitimacy and a healthy "marketplace", in my experience! :guilty: :imho:

There are also a lot of bogus "buyers" on Sedo, as well!

A public listing, of an indexed(able) website, full of TMs and well known brands! He'll need a bigger mailbox to fit all those responding to his 'open invitations' to his 'C&D Party!!' (kids..!)

Just regged the geo - Bennington.tel.

I've got quite a few dot tels, but looking at this list, I was amazed to find how few I would have liked myself. Maybe egg.tel and adultmovie.tel for fun, but that's about it... just seems like an incredible amount of domains of low quaility IMHO. SDSINC, would probably say it best...Jesus!! Although, having said that..there may be a few vanity names worth a few bob once .tel saturates the global market with myspace etc, so not all (but most) is lost perhaps.

Not only in Sedo, you can find such genuine buyers in auction venues like Snap Names, Name Jet and Pool too...

the problem is see here is that most peopel are treating .tel as .com - you cannot develop a .tel the way you can a .com (womensfashion.com would be an amazing domain, womensfashion.tv would be great but come on .tel!) people arent realizing that .tel is made as a directory, for shits and giggles lets just say that it is developable as a directory + has strong seo potential: there are only a handful of names that would have any worth as a directory and those were regd pre sunrise for $300 a pop - everything after that is worthless IMHO, unless its your last name or a personal talisman. You might as well buy a .cc (it has more potential to make money than any .tel) development wise at least. You can turn any extension into a directory - blank page with contact info in text will load fast on any mobile device, what is the need for a seperate extension? I mean, you wouldnt exactly go to Garcia.tel if you didnt know that your friend Ben Garcia owned the domain, people would have to tell you to go there, its no different than any site. If someone could justify this I am more than willing to listen.
