What are the 10 most valuable keywords for .world extension in your opinion?
(By "valuable" I mean here highest possible potential resell value. Now, let's disregard for a moment how those names are actually priced - whether they have standard/premium renewals attached - and let's evaluate them only based on the semantic value, as if they would be all for standard renewal fee only)

Rules:
1. Only 10 keywords max (can be less of course, but not more, please)
2. Only keywords you do not own (this will prevent us to insert our own names for promotional reasons)

Please everyone share your opinion! It can be useful mental exercise for all of us.
Many thanks :)

Off the top of my head I would add, in no particular order and none of which I own :xf.frown:, to @lolwarrior superb start to the list:
  • news
  • investment
  • game
  • fairer
  • book
  • film
  • science
  • sports
  • data
  • online
I have not checked if any of these have TM issues, they are all generic but some are used in specific media for example. In general I think there are many excellent world domains since almost any profession or service followed by world makes total sense, and for a store almost any product followed by the name makes sense if there are not TM roadblocks.

Thanks for the interesting thread1

Bob

There's only one good one. In terms of internet reference

old.world

Still only 30 years old/young as the internet is as a communication tool . It's what people have (and still are) coming to terms with.

The reinvention (Ntlds) is still 20 years ahead of its time. .biz info etc etc demonstrated that, What are you guys still missing. (apart from overt self-reassurance)

Yes there will be one or two real blinders in ngtlds- And I do envy the great stuff happens at every level. well-done to them

I thought of another I like a lot one.world but I checked and it is already in nice use by a UK furnishings place that sells things sourced from around the world. Would have been a nice name for a nonprofit.

I see that news.world from my list is developed as well. I had not checked any of them when I submitted my list.

Sports.world from my list I now see is also in use by some kind of sports marketing company.

@BaileyUK ... 20 years is absolutely nothing ... I just turned 40 this year, so in 20 years I will be 60 ... still plenty of time to enjoy potential results of what I do today, I guess :)

1 important thing though ...keep your renewals low.

data.world from your list is also developed ... new gTLDs are still somewhere on the beginning, and almost everything is already taken :)

Thank you for submitting!

It is really great to see how different people have totally different choice of top 10 keywords for the same extension...that just proves we are very different when it comes to preferences :)

It is the 49,394th most visited website globally and 25,012 most visited website in the U.S based on Amazon's Alexa. Knowing there are over 1.5 billion websites out there this is really a success measurement for a new gTLD.

Some people were sceptic (and yet still are) that the regular Joe only understand from .com but have no idea about new gTLDs. Well below data shows that they are wrong.

I would point out that @briguy and I agree on sports :xf.grin:(I would like his hockey too if I had thought of it, but that's a Canadian thing :-D)

Thanks so much for the information on data.world @atinc - I agree impressive. What tool did you use to generate data like this for a domain name?

So the fact that without checking at least four of my 10 are well developed, does that mean I am good at picking .world domain names? :-P

I like .world for its flexibility - nice as a company name when no TM issues, nice for nonprofits in variety of areas, nice as part of a domain name phrase. I think that is partly why we see a lot of variety in the types of domain names suggested in the lists so far.

Please others provide your top 10 (that you don't own) fits. I like the theme of this thread since it emphasizes the key point of successful new gTLD investing - it is the match across the dot that is paramount in importance.

My picks have some kind of logic..
(a) what sells...sex sells (that is what the marketing people tell me)
(b) Sports/world (etc) sounds like a franchise name. But if I can think of it, it probably already taken, my history with picking domains verifies that lol.

It is called Alexa, you can download it as an extension to your browser for free.

Thanks. I did not realize there was a free browser extension for Alexa that provided data without subscribing to one of their plans. I just downloaded it. So learned something new already today, and it is not yet 7 am here! :xf.grin:

I checked a few of the other .world discussed above, but only data seems to have big numbers.

Thanks again.

Data.World was sold by Webquest Chad Wright I believe to a very well funded company for about $10K if memory serves correct. Webquest was not shy about
jumping in on Day 3 EAP’s back in the day.

He would have had many better names had he not used Enom for EAP’s as their systems kept failing, Godaddy was one of the fastest platforms for EAP catches.

.World missed tagging a lot of names with premium renewal, as some of the better ones are in the $250 range.

The most promising names are already posted.

From these posts I would also prefer
crypto.world
digital.world
green.world
my.world
news.world
sports.world

and fill up to 10 names with
beauty.world
bet.world (I am always unsure if bet or betting is better(!). I decide for the shorter name here.)
tech.world
travel.world

This one is nice, I missed it.
I also thought about best or better world regarding the one.world post but couldn´t decide between them.
