Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

Just got home from the hockey game... we lost in shoot-out...bummer.

Point is, a buddy of my brothers came with us.. he had a blackberry.. He has some sort of University degree in computer stuff... I think software development..Anyways, I told him to check NorthAmerica.tel on his blackberry.. He was blown away by how quick it was! He thought it was a super good idea, and asked several more questions about the extension.. I'm not saying that NorthAmerica.tel is a great name... but I am saying that this another person who thinks this a GOOD thing... the .Tel concept I mean.

As a matter of fact...everybody I have shown this too on their own personal phones has been totally blown away by the speed... and excited about the idea!

Saucey.

Yes, ordinary people are taken aback when you tell them about .tel

I have already given out my name .tel to colleagues.

After I explain what it is, the next comment is "Cool!" It seems that non-techie people get it and are delighted that one does not need a website.

Not to disparage .me, but for two or three months after GA started, premium names were fairly easy to reg. The same names for .tel are simply gone.

SOMEONE is stashing them.

I know, isn't it amazing! So many names are gone already. If you are missing some though, a certain Hong Kong gentleman has about 700. It's lucky you're not a celebrity, or your name would have been taken, lol.
Saucy... your story is the same I have been finding.. people I know and have shown it to are already registering their dot tel... I have a feeling this thing will be big! (I think I should have added a capital B to big actually).
:gl:
Evirtual1: nice name (bathurst.tv), Im glad you are up on your cars! As you can see Im not so fanatical about .tel that Im registering every name and it's dog.
I just had an idea, might go down in the morn and get some personal name cards made with my .tel address on it... I might also include the telnic address on their too (in fact i will) so folks can check it out. In Japan, handing out personal cards (even if your not a business) is the custom, so why not in New Zealand too I ask? I Might even buy a nice dainty card case for them. :lala:

Thanks,

couple of things:

your first link (see this a lot) is a link to the page the user currently is on (which you inexplicably refer to it as a "featured sponsor"). seems to waste a premium spot. after all, given the format, the order in which you list things is the only tool you have to direct viewers to what's important.

in the same vein, your paragraph explaining merchandise.tel is located at the bottom, surrounded by keywords that users are likely to tune out (since they repeat the names of the directories listed above).

unless a visitor already knows what merchandise.tel is about, it might be confusing.

Ms Domainer, Agreed the rate at which .tels are getting picked up is amazing Even generic 3 worders. As a lot are not resolving I'm guessing there are alot of domainers at it....

Went looking for a few.tels to compliment the dot me's I have. Most have been taken. 3 letters geos and keywords. I'm glad I picked up my meagre selection when I did. Theres a few (2-3) on my list which I've been holding back on till pay day.

Out of interest who is all jumping on the 3 letter bandwagon? They are going like crazy, if you are: are you looking for quick flips or in it for the longterm?

Who is "Daniel Fuehrer" and how exactly did he acquire almost all the top GEO .TEL

NewYork.tel
LosAngeles.tel
Chicago.tel
Phoenix.tel
Philadelphia.tel
SanDiego.tel
Texas.tel

Among hundreds of others... Some BS going on there.

Some nice acquisitions going on around here.

A few more I grabbed:

snappy
hotty
drip

The list is looking pretty good ;) I might flip them, but they may find their way into my dev plans, still ironing out some wrinkles.

To get you started on traffic, be sure to add all your dot-tels to the Telodex. I'll be firing up the crawler soon :D

Hey Freakysteve, I submitted cranston.tel and didn't think it added it, but I didn't notice the arrow at the bottom. So, it's in there like 5 times. I'm not trying to spam I thought it wasn't taking my site.
Thanks

I have 2 LLL (actually a LLL & LNL) dot-tels that I picked up in early GA.

Still undecided if I am going to keep them or flip them in the not-so-distant future. They were surprise acquisitions, so I had no original long term plans for them.
