It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

Looks like people are making offers on .pros that take there interest and sellers are taking a punt hoping for more bidders.
Really surprised business sold at that price. If this had been in the godaddy or snapnames auctions I'd have thought it would have raised more.

Following the link to the winning bid it shows a second bid from some one else.

Did anyone watch to see if this got picked off in the last minute or did someone not want to let go of it at that price and a friendly buyer came along:|

I see a 3 hour or so difference I think on the bids...still a second bid

4,6k is way too low IMO for this keyword.
dot co 80k; dot me 50k ; dot tv 100k.

Even though dot pro is still behind these4,6k is unacceptable IMO. I HOPE it was a friendly bidder.

offtopic: dot com sold for 150k in '97 and re-sold in '99 for 7,5mil. makes me laugh

~$5K is the resale price, not for end user.

If people are coming in and buying .pros on Sedo they are surely searching for 'em...as we know to find a .pro results don't just pop up on regular sedo search requests.

Great to see the PR posted on behalf of registry.pro on the Godaddy auction which suggests there will be another upcoming auction. Hopefully that will bring a larger marketing push a long with it. The last one was certainly fun even if I came out with just a wee.pro!

Total .pros registered for October 2011 were up for the 22nd month in a row, this month by 2.4% to 75,538, excluding the Hostway zip codes. RU Center is still the fastest growing registrar, up 4.8% in the month to 10,724, however that was the slowest month on month growth for them since they started selling .pro. Encirca is still the biggest .pro register on a round 13,500, this is about 2,000 .pros ahead of both Network Solutions and OVH.

I agree.
I'm the same, just in case a "affari.pro" (business in Italian)
Italians for the keyword.
That say, they like?

I used to own speed.pro, torrent.pro and torrents.pro back in 2008,I let them both drop :| . I think I might of had another good one too.

not sure about that valuation of the .pro names now if I still retained them as I have more interest in the .tv extension.

.tv is a good extension I think. also, .pro is making some progress, but don't think anyone could have predicted the drop in registration fees. That is a big thing as these domains were first listed for 100 bucks annual renewals.

Overall, the .pro extension is picking up in aftermarket sales and overall registrations. I think we are all hopeful that marketing will pick up a bit as well since the registry is now owned by Afilias that runs .info and .org

I'm sure there are still some opportunities to get back in the .pro extensions but to get better single word domains you need to check our snapnames. Here is an article on upcoming auctions.

the fact that this level domains are released, confirmed that among End users do not have interest, perhaps domainers from Russia still believe in the zone, as listed Bidder of more than 50%

Indeed, it would seem that domains are an extremely lucrative market if you have the right knowledge about them.
