We all seem to be in agreement that the only justifiable reason to own a premium .TV is for development purposes. I thought it would be interesting to compile a list of those premium .TVs that have been developed AND are currently active.

Listing criteria:

1. domain must be a premium.
2. domain must be fully developed (not parked or minisite) AND active.
3. premium must be $100/yr or greater.

I'll start.....

Domain = Public.TV
Renewal (per Ahead) = $10,000/Yr
URL = http://www.public.tv

Site description = "providing an easy-to-use portal for users to search, view, interact and share high-quality UK films, current affairs and factual programmes."

I think it is more case that YOU want us to be in agreement on this.

I think the one thing that many can all agree on is the fact that your mockery of this thread area has really got to come to an end.

I imagine you assumed by your question to show that nothing has been developed that is a premium name.

Perhaps you may want to have a look at....

Here's another popular premium development:

Domain = Justin.TV

I should really have added FIVE.tv

Some have disappeared from my list - Japanese channel Kent.tv disappeared from last year.

I also had AA.tv on my list of names that was developed, and it has certainly been renewed, but it seems to have gone into relapse.

Yeah, and Tuvalu is not sinking. Ok. :)

Really, MicroGuy, your fixation on drowning Tuvalu is a little disconcerting. Getting back to the issues, you are qualified to speak for all domainers....how?

Since you decided to hijack this thread, why don't you go ahead and give an example of how someone today can go out, register a premium .TV domain, and make money.

Not hijacking inasmuch as asking you to clarify the premise of your thread, which incorrectly leaps to a conclusion that all domainers accept and use your business model. And, of course, also questioning your corollary that suggests, well, that you speak for only the intelligent domainers, lol.

Since you decided to hijack this thread...

...you mean like the way Don Quixote(Snoop) and his underlings hijacks the .tv forum? So it's a contribution when one side does it and hijacking when the other side does exactly the same thing. OK, I get it... :]

I read practically every thread here in the .TV sub-forum, several domainer blogs, plus numerous other .TV resources on the subject. The vast majority these authors strongly feel that a buy and hold approach to premium .TV domain investment is a high-risk, low return gamble due to the annual carrying costs and that development is the most sensible path. As I watch the large number of premium .TV domains drop, I count myself a member of this majority.

If I was unclear previously, hopefully this will satisfy you and we can move on to the original objective of this thread which was to create an archive of developed premium .TV sites. Thanks.

Whatever.

I appreciate the response regarding your take on the extension. It is certainly high-risk and can be low return but a return nonetheless. Not a get-rich-quick scheme by any stretch of the imagination. However, where you call it s gamble many business people refer to it as speculation. A rose by any other name in this investment, like many other businesses, I guess. But I have to admit that I have never even considered purchasing a premium name, so the balance has to be justified with its intended user.

I for one do see this extension as a less costly alternative for endusers as well who do not want to pay for the .com facsimile, which can be out of reach(in a lump sum payment) depending on who owns that parked page.

As for your response to me:

Whatever, indeed! :'(

Okay, Microguy, you read a lot; so do I. Some people may wish to develop their domains - I certainly try to. The fact that I read a lot does not imply that I am privy to other businessmen's private business models. If they develop, fine. If they hold for their own particular reason, fine. This thread would be a perfectly fine thread, a listing of developed premium domains, as long as you do not suggest that this is the only option that a domainer has, since you are not privy to anyone else's business knowledge, expertise or intentions. Just sayin....

If Snoop wants to jump in at this point, that would be fine.... oh, wait, forgot, I still have him on ignore.
