Thanks.. the low launch price is indeed a good sign for the console and the gaming industry in general. Maybe it will force console manufacturers to rethink their pricing and bundle strategies.. this sort of competitive pricing can only help, provided the quality of the finished machine is up to par. We'll know once the inevitable complaints start coming in.

25 launch titles is also good news but I hope the bundled games will include more than just "sports".. I'm not much for sports games in general. Apparently most game companies seem to feel the majority of players play sports games, yet you consistently see the sports preplayed games being sold for less on ebay and elsewhere.

I don't exactly want to buy a Wii, but I am really hoping that when it launches, the price of XBox 360 will go down, so that I can get one.

December 2nd, is a prtty good date, as there will be a mad rush to get them all for christmas, ans surely they'll be sold out. Smart thinking on Nintendo's part.

That's the Japanese launch date. Also how does this topic say the PS3 is a flop especially since it's not out yet?

PS3 launch is Nov 11 in Japan and Nov 17 in America.
Wii US launch date is Nov 19 (supposedly).

Yeah, how is PS3 a flop? The article has no connection whatsoever to the PS3. Sony obviously said they could only produce 2 million units of the PS3 instead of the original 6 million estimate just so they can increase prices and they'll be more in demand. After Christmas, PS3s will start magically appearing with much lower pricetags.

Nintendo Wii does look good though, and a great price! Nintendo might be making a bit of a comeback with this one!
