It happened on 23rd Aug 2022 and this matter lasted almost one month without any process. Masterbucks.com declined my fund withdrawal and disabled the button of fund withdrawal. And I contacted Epik.com and got no further action even if Rob Monster got involved in it for two weeks. All the time I was told in email by management review.

What is wrong with Epik.com? Do you think it is normal to disable fund withdrawal? How can I get back my fund from Epik.com? Thanks for your suggestion.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
If the Epik Saga was due to regulatory demands including KYC, Afternic, Dan, and other marketplaces may soon follow.
Hope not. Others are just marketplaces. Epik+Masterbucks promotes itself as an escrow and, potentially, money transfer business (the very 1st post in this thread was about a withdrawal originated from a p2p money transfer between two customers inside masterbucks)

I guess some members may not feel comfortable providing PII + biometrics to Epik via veriff or otherwise. Also, in some cases, like small balances, the overall benefit does not worth the risk of identity theft.

So, Epik, please #BeEpik :

https://greatnonprofits.org/city/washington/DC

Just provide a list of charities members may donate their balances to, without veriff verification...

others use common sense and don't put their whole business at risk because of their personal ideology. When they are dealing with someone that can trigger a compliance issue, they do full KYC verification. Some have come here to complain about it.

DAN did KYC with crypto withdrawal but accepted the same document Epik's verification partners is rejecting.

Is anyone from Epik ever going to show their face in public again, or is this the new normal?

Everyone in authority at Epik has been publicly MIA, for weeks now.

Legendary.

How long ago was that? Perhaps now the requirements are stricter globally?

Why are they rejecting those documents?

Just checked this "veriff" thing. One cannot simply send them watermarked images. They'll grab full biometric profile (face, eyes) as well as the ID card using the app. Their app asks a lot:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/datasafety?id=com.veriff.demo

Most notably, as per veriff website:

Clients may have access to your Personal Data. We may share your Personal Data including identity verification data with the Client through which you used our identity verification service

"Client" above is Epik/Masterbucks.

Those members who were comfortable with providing the PII + biometric data to veriff and masterbucks may share their experience on trustpilot (2.7 rating currently):

Under EU GDPR biometric data is in a higher, more protected category of data such as health info. This is sensitive and highly regulated stuff.

Veriff are located in the EU and also have to be very careful about any sharing or storing of data outside the EU. Under GDPR you have to say what you are collecting data for and only collect data that you need for that purpose.

https://www.dentons.com/en/insights/alerts/2020/december/22/gdpr-update-biometric-data :
The GDPR prohibits the processing of biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying natural persons. The exemptions the GDPR provides are limited and very restrictive. Individual’s explicit consent is an example of an exemption. Note that in an employer-employee relationship explicit consent cannot be used as an exemption due to the imbalance between the controller and the data subject. It is deemed that consent cannot be freely given in such case.

OK, how about domainer-epik relationship then? Do the domainers really give such a consent freely, just to access their own money under post-upgrade epik requirements?

I don't know, let me see the Masterbucks TOS at the time the funds were frozen...

I did the verification last year when I wanted to withdraw from DAN via crypto, they don't ask for it for other means of payment. I think KYC is required for crypto dealings globally.

Damn scary especially when Estonia is a regularly hacked country. Just last year 300k IDs stolen. But storing at E isn't any better.....

The system is automated, so no reason was given.
Yo, even when you blank out the country details that 2nd line at the bottom that you haven't edit out gives a huge hint on where you're from ;)

Anyway it looked kind of blur. Verification services tend to discriminate against people who use "cheap smartphones with bad cameras", so if you can't get a higher-end smartphone you might be unfairly screwed by many companies if not all. Also sometimes it's not the phone itself but the stupid app/browser's camera not doing a proper job so you might want to snap using the original stock camera app before uploading from gallery to veriff/etc instead if you haven't done so. Well they did say ID not supported so this might not work either but since you can't use anything else might as well re-upload a clearer version and see how it goes.

It's not even possible to upload, you have to snap with the veriff app camera. The issue is with the ID, which is by the way the highest form of identity in my country.

That's the worst nightmare type of app-forced camera that needs a miracle to operate. The same reason why I've never touched a phone crypto app till today even when I use crypto regularly. I think at this point you should manually contact them (Veriff) to see if they allow manual uploads.

Anyway there's a country list from Veriff:

https://www.veriff.com/supported-countries

So yours should be supported but something went wrong or you're using the old unsupported ID version (just guessing based on a quick Google search). Verification companies might also opt to accept only the new ID versions which is another big PITA.

Okay. Looks like payouts via PayPal are instant. Although the fees are outrageous.

Let's see if anyone has received their money via other payout methods outside Paypal

I just thought of something stupid, like "what if I go to the extreme and paint the words 'FOR VERIFF/EPIK ONLY' on my face just to make sure my captured image can't be used by other people?"
