It happened on 23rd Aug 2022 and this matter lasted almost one month without any process. Masterbucks.com declined my fund withdrawal and disabled the button of fund withdrawal. And I contacted Epik.com and got no further action even if Rob Monster got involved in it for two weeks. All the time I was told in email by management review.

What is wrong with Epik.com? Do you think it is normal to disable fund withdrawal? How can I get back my fund from Epik.com? Thanks for your suggestion.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
how is it helping epik and credibility and future etc if the new account is basically anonymous as are all posts.anonymous and unsigned. this is unhelpful. unprofessional. and automatically implies someone has someone to hide at some level.

I'm not kidding. Rob Monster is working for new guys. Brian Royce might be but I don't think so. Just when you think the trash fire might go out someone goes and throws some tires on the pile. This has escalated from red hot dumpster fire to full on tire fire.

This could end up being a disaster for ICANN as well.

Are they really going to approve something that leaves so many Epik victims holding the bag?

The optics of "Epik" agreeing to an asset transfer to "Epik" (a week old company shrouded in secrecy) while leaving the liabilities with "Epik" is kind of absurd.

5.5 Termination of Agreement by ICANN. This Agreement may be terminated before its expiration by ICANN in any of the following circumstances:
...
5.5.8 (i) Registrar makes an assignment for the benefit of creditors or similar act;

If they end up just rubber stamping it, after all these concerns, it is not going to be a look good.

If they approve it, then it predictably goes tits up, it is going to look even worse.

Yep, this lying, gas lighting D bag sounds awful like Monster. Wait until he finds out what is coming for him.

"12% of corporate senior leadership displays a range of psychopathic traits, which means psychopathy is up to 12 times more common among senior management than among the general population.

(And) when some of the defining traits of psychopathy include egocentricity, predatoriness, recklessness, a lack of empathy, and a propensity for manipulation and exploitation, it doesn’t take a great leap of the imagination to see how a high percentage of unrecognized psychopathy in senior management could lead to all kinds of problems for organizations, their employees, their customers, and society at large..."

There's a lot of problems Epik Holdings Inc made for themselves and a lot of fraud from customers that Epik Holdings Inc didn't have the sophistication to deal with. People trying to pay with Alt coins, the software not knowing what to do, creating masterbucks/credit, and then saying Epik robbed them when they were trying to pay with worthless crypto. The story isn't nearly as bad as many posts here make it seem.
Dear unverified account, there does seem to be a repeating theme here of "blame the customer".

Can you please promise to repay all Masterbucks holders in real money, and commit to a date for doing that?

Proof of funds would be appreciated.

Monday was an interesting day (this thread). Special thanks to John Berryhill for posting a lot of useful information, and to Chris Hydrick for finding where epik.holdings domain is registered at (Porkbun, a serious and trusted registrar) - actions are more important than words.

This is Epik LLC.

We'd like to provide an update from today:

1. JJE, TVT, and Adkisson were all paid today and released lawsuits. The sale of Epik Holdings Inc to Epik LLC was able to close.
2. ICANN was paid in full today.
3. Identity Digital was paid in full today.
4. Verisign was paid in full today, but it is not showing as cleared on their end yet. Should be by mid day Monday. Should have no problems with .com's getting registered and renewed Monday by mid day. All other endings are not in default and are able to be registered and renewed, but will be paid in full by end of day Monday regardless. These include Godaddy, Central Nic, Pir Org, and too many other vendors to list.
5. All aftermarket options were removed from epik.com today. As all of you have documented and somehow had the time to write up 299 pages about this rehashing the same thing 80 different ways, we need to focus on domains getting registered, renewed, and maintained. Support requests answered. And building the trust back of the core functions of a registrar: maintaining your trusted assets.

As all of you know, there's a big hole here to dig out of. We have shifted 10 customer support reps to support Epik.com customers starting Monday. We provide backend domain registrar services currently and can flex to as many people as needed to provide better customer service than any other option out there. It will take us some time though to learn Epik.coms software and quirks and obvious business operational problems that aren't normal. Our goal by the end of the week is to have 95% of phone calls answered live. 5% going to voicemail with a call returned in 2 hours or less. All support emails answered within 2 hours.

Our goals for Monday are to re-interview any old Epik Holdings Inc employees that would like to be rehired and that want to help us take care of the clients. Work our way through a long list of vendors and clients and start picking away at making things right. And we will not be accepting crypto as there was obviously massive operational and accounting problems in the current tech stack to properly account for it.

Once we can have domains safe and working well for our clients, we will start working through the in store credits. There's a lot there to work through. We'd appreciate your patience as we try to work through this.

There's a long history here and some weird stuff. Ok, maybe crazy stuff. Businesses make bad decisions all day every day: Montgomery Wards, Sears, JC Penneys, Toys R Us. You can watch hilco auctions to see businesses failing every day. Rob Monster might have made a bunch of bad mistakes, but he worked tirelessly for the last 9 months behind the scenes to make this deal happen and Brian Royce worked nonstop around the clock trying to save Epik and both tried as hard as possible to help as many clients as possible. There were so many problems we can't even begin to organize them into a cohesive postmortem to even attempt at speculating what caused it all. If you truly understood the mess behind the scenes what these two men pulled off is miraculous. And any of your speculation is worthless at this point also. What's important is moving forward and taking care of as many people as possible and trying to make things right for as many people as possible. We're no where close yet, but we're at least in a structure and position to try. There's a long ways to go and we recognize people have been financially hurt. We've very sorry for this, but if you'll give us time as the new Epik.com owners, we're going to try our best to help as many people as possible and right the ship. But it won't be overnight and words don't mean anything, actions will though, but it won't be fixed overnight.

Nothing we can say will fix what happened in the past prior to us, but we hope all of you will give us a shot to earn your trust. A lot of you are rightfully worried about customers not getting screwed. We care about that as well. It will be easier for us to make more people whole if there isn't an exodus of customer moving domains. Amazingly, if you look at the dumpster fire of the last 12 months and all the domains that have left. Epik still has an amazing following that believe in it and what it stands for. Epik still loses half as many domains as a percentage that Namesilo and Namecheap lose and is on par with Godaddy. There's still a very loyal following. And if the money had been there to keep domains renewing, Epik would have had a lot less get transferred out. And as a percentage done way better than Godaddy. We feel pretty confident we'll be back over 800,000 domains under management by the end of the year. We're here because the industry doesn't provide a great solution and we've tried them all and aren't satisfied with what is out there.

It might take awhile to earn your trust back, but we will keep trying, and will update this post next week as we progress.

Thank you for your time and consideration. We're here to help.

"They" claimed it might take until Tuesday morning for everything to clear...so if the domains still haven't been renewed by Tuesday night, please let us know. If you are still having issues Tuesday night and the domain(s) are gTLDs, please file a complaint with ICANN regarding them too.

It is worth mentioning that current Epik ICANN accreditation expires in ~7 months, and so it has to be renewed "once ICANN determines that a registrar meets the requirements" (or not renewed) regardless. As per an old (Jan. 2019) tweet:

Have you filed a complaint with ICANN regarding the non-renewal of the domain???
icann. org/compliance/complaint (remove the space before org to get link to work)

Epik typically has resolved those kinds of issues when an ICANN complaint is filed, hope it works for you too!!!

Does the domain use hosting services from Epik, or from an external party?

Spear said Registered Agents, Inc. adheres to the Wyoming Secretary of State’s rules related to gathering and maintaining addresses and other contact information for individuals involved in businesses for which the company serves as registered agents.
Although private citizens may not always be able to determine what individuals are involved in an LLC, Spear said the secretary of state, as well as the law enforcement agencies via the secretary of state’s office can freely access this information from LLCs. Registered Agents, Inc., Spear said, turns over information to the secretary of state a couple of times per month.

external.
In that case, I'd transfer the .org domain to another registrar today, and mimic current DNS settings, if possible.

(also pay attention to how mail is handled)

According to Registrar Accreditation Agreement, registrars are supposed to display the following on their website, among other things:
  1. Full name, contact information, and position of all officers of the Registrar.* (Officer names and positions must be publicly displayed.)

Can anybody find it on epik.com ? I tried, but was unable to find anything ... Neither "old" Epik nor "new" Epik

@OceanKing
To be more specific:

1. Check if the domain is using epik dns servers (ns3.epik.com and ns4.epik.com).

2. If yes - set the dns elsewhere, copy current dns setup, change dns servers that the domain is using (from your epik account).

3. Start the transfer away if and only if the domain is no more using epik dns [or if it did not use it at all]

This is to avoid potential dns issues during the transfer. Generally speaking, DNS and webhosting may be from different providers - so it is always better to check.

Update:

All ICANN breach requirements have been met and we will work with ICANN to properly comply by June 22. All underlying registries have been paid and funded and all batched domains have been processed that were hung up for lack of funding. Luckily all domains were saved in time. It would appear that all registrations and renewals are working properly. There may be a few stragglers still resolving through mid morning Tuesday the 6th. But all domain functions should be working at this point.

We are hoping all customer support emails and phones will be back fully operational this week.

We will start working through the long list of in store credits the week of June 12th, 2023. There's a lot to work through, and we're not minimizing the pain some of you have had to go through. Many people did normal transactions and just got caught in a cash crunch that Epik Holdings Inc had. It might take some time, but we will try to do right for as many people as possible. Everyone would have gotten zero if Epik had done bankruptcy so it might not be as fast of a resolution as you all would like, but we're making progress and already doing better than the alternative.

We're sorry that so many of you have been so inconvenienced over the past year, but the future is bright. Thank you to those that have stuck with us during this tough time.

Also, FYI, the asset purchase agreement that was leaked was not the asset purchase agreement Epik LLC used to acquire certain assets from Epik Holdings Inc. That deal was ruined by a temporary restraining order. We did not purchase Masterbucks or any crypto alternative resilient ecosystem stuff. Just domain software and clients. We will not be offering aftermarket, escrow, crypto, or any of the alternative resilient ecosystem ideas. Just domain registration and management.

When acquiring assets it is very common to form a new surviving LLC, use a registered agent service in a state with friendly laws, and use Independent Director services to facilitate a special purpose entity when there are a lot of logistics. This was a complicated deal. We hope to serve and help as many people that will let us. There were a lot of mistakes made and a lot to work through. Thank you for your patience as we do our best to help as many people as possible.

Will try to update again by end of the week June 16 on the progress made towards making things right for customers with in store credit. Maybe it will be an epik couple weeks. You stay epik naming professionals. We'll keep trying to fix things.

Epik LLC
Here are some highlights from (2) posts (allegedly) from "Epik LLC" aka "new" Epik.

"New" Epik sure sounds a lot like Old "Epik" with comments like this.

"We're sorry that so many of you have been so inconvenienced over the past year, but the future is bright. Thank you to those that have stuck with us during this tough time."

Being scammed out of thousands of dollars is not an "inconvenience".

"Also, FYI, the asset purchase agreement that was leaked was not the asset purchase agreement Epik LLC used to acquire certain assets from Epik Holdings Inc. That deal was ruined by a temporary restraining order. "

How about a little victim blaming?

This is talking about Adkisson, AKA the guy Epik took a $327,000 escrow payment from in May 2022 and didn't transfer the domain or refund the money for a year. He had to file a RICO lawsuit and TRO motion to eventually get paid.

"As all of you have documented and somehow had the time to write up 299 pages about this rehashing the same thing 80 different ways"

A little snide jab.

"There's a lot of problems Epik Holdings Inc made for themselves and a lot of fraud from customers that Epik Holdings Inc didn't have the sophistication to deal with...

The story isn't nearly as bad as many posts here make it seem."

A little customer blaming. You know the "fraud" was from the customers, not from the company that scammed the customers.

"Rob Monster might have made a bunch of bad mistakes, but he worked tirelessly for the last 9 months behind the scenes to make this deal happen and Brian Royce worked nonstop around the clock trying to save Epik and both tried as hard as possible to help as many clients as possible."

Now all of a sudden praising Rob Monster, after blasting his actions so openly. Epik even threatened to sue him.

"If you truly understood the mess behind the scenes what these two men pulled off is miraculous. And any of your speculation is worthless at this point also."

A little more praise, and condescension.

We're here because the industry doesn't provide a great solution and we've tried them all and aren't satisfied with what is out there.

Close strong with blatant self-promotion.
