What are the first steps of starting your own dating service?

Is it just simply domain name purchasing and hosting acct.

Or do you have to get a social network?

If you want to actually match people up and not just "sell" services from other companies, I imagine there are some legal issues you'll want to look into. Being the means by which people exchange private info and meet up - what if they're underage? What if one is a nutcase? Scary stuff.

For that to work, you are going to have to shell out a good amount of money, if its a custom job you can expect to pay anywhere from $10k-80k for that type of project to be coded for. Unless of course you are the one making it, in that case good luck i wouldn't want to mess with something of that magnitude. Simply put that is a very very advanced project, if you don't know how to do it I wouldn't waste the money on it.
