I think there was a lot "lost in translation" in the original post, and if it was made in the name of "fun", then most readers (myself included) won't get the joke.

Unfortunately, what I think can also be added to the list of "problems" is the significant number of "old school" members on NamePros who seem to have a big chip on their shoulder when it comes to their "weathered" view of the industry as well as an all-too-obvious disdain for newcomers (or "noobs", that tiresome tag often unfairly assigned to members based solely on their join date).

As the saying goes, the only thing that is constant is change, and there's always going to be lots of resistance to change especially from those of us who've been around long enough to have maybe an overinflated sense of nostalgia about "the good old days".

Seems like you are referencing the old time .commers who see no value in new extensions vs those who had no chance to acquire those great .coms back in the good old days and they are excited about new gtlds.

At the end of the day, It doesn't matter what someone you only know as a username thinks about an extension you are buying. If you can afford it and you like it, everything else is noise. #Domaining

The biggest thing here is that if people are abiding by Namepros rules, they can post what they like and others can choose to ignore them.

There are plenty of things I think are foolish, but it's not my place to tell someone unless they are breaking the law, hurting someone else or are going to get hurt themselves like buying well known tm from companies that enforce their ip very strongly.

I think big ticket sales over 100k deserve their own topic a double post would be quite acceptable to me. The member that gets such a sale certainly deserves the credit.

I’d like to add people making individual threads for their sales. There’s already a 700+ page thread for reporting sales, stop fishing for likes!

I understand the NP Team is currently addressing this issue. They were taking suggestions on the minimum data requirement for posting sales. I am unsure of the current status.
Regarding the individual thread for sales posting, I suspect one reason could be members (especially newbies) are unaware where this link resides. To make it easy to find, could the NP team make a static link for this?

But lets face it all domain boards have lived and died the same way, There is some sense of management here at Namepros. I loved it when nobody else (or not many) were on-board. But now we are going back 20 years when I was a newbie and argued with those that thought the Internet was a 'side-thingy'

I think it funny how to notice the last post on any domain for-sale or auction is always the thread-starter, with probably some "ten-ups" in between.

You either know this business or you don't - Domain boards don't really help these days, I think, or should I say I know they did back in the late 90's early/mid 2000's when all understanding was fresh and evolving

I just don't know any joke about domaining but only this one from old or gold or may be too old domainer telling everyone "stick with .com" believe me it's one of the biggest joke for me.

I sell a lot of .ca's and only own about one tenth of the .com's
I've made a ton of money on .ca's but only a couple of larger .com sales exceeded all the .ca's combined.

I would agree a six figure sale should have it's own, I don't even have a problem with the others, I was replying to someone who does have a problem with individual threads and pointing out if Namepros wanted it stopped they could stop it.

On the right side (of the dot = registries, registrars), the domain business (in this case I mean "lending TLDs") isn't a joke, it's a multi million - business, at least for the big players of them.

On the left side (of the dot = registrants) it (in this case I mean "registering = rent individual domain names with individual TLDs") can turn into a "joke" - trying to sell individual domain names is a complete other thing.

I enjoy the forum but rarely buy publicly, I usually do it via PM. As far as selling goes, I have the most luck via my own landers. Those are the type in's and they are usually end users.
