    - Not too many people concentrate their time to buy/sell anymore - They are just complaining and posting craps.
    -- Godaddy steal my names
-- I have a trademark name - what to do?
-- Begging for appraisal on crappy names
-- What do you do at the moment? who care?
-- How much money do you make? who care?

    - Domain Name Wanted Section:
-- One word dictionary name - budget $50 - Good luck with that
-- Brandable names (what the heck is that?) Budget $20-$20,000 - It means $20 per name

    - $1 Auction Section
-- How do you make money on these auctions? 900 Hours After The Last Bid?
-- You can spend time to work at McDonald and make more money than this.

    I rest my case.

your post cracked me up - had tears in my eyes from laughing!

    - Not too many people concentrate their time to buy/sell anymore - how do you know this? Have you taken a poll asking how much time people spend on buying and selling - do have any supporting evidence behind this statement?

-- Godaddy steal my names - why not list every other marketplace as well and all other people buying names - you snooze you lose

-- I have a trademark name - part of the learning curve either look it up or ask on here as there are plenty of helpful hands around

-- Begging for appraisal on crappy names - how else are new people going to learn unless by doing research, asking questions and for other peoples opinions. It's a trial and error process. I think begging is quite a strong word to use - writing please is not begging it's being polite - haven't seen a lot of begging on the appraisal page to be honest.

-- What do you do at the moment? Polite question, engaging with people is not a bad thing

-- How much money do you make? would NEVER ask anyone this question so agree

love the post - hope your case is a bit lighter after writing it!

My biggest pet peeve: crap extensions released one after another and domainers still falling for it. People burning money ablaze on handregs that are already slated for drop next year.
Too many distractions, not enough focus. Making money requires strong focus and clear ideas. Fuzzy brains don't achieve good results.

    Spot-on Johnn.

But lets face it all domain boards have lived and died the same way, There is some sense of management here at Namepros. I loved it when nobody else (or not many) were on-board. But now we are going back 20 years when I was a newbie and argued with those that thought the Internet was a 'side-thingy'

I think it funny how to notice the last post on any domain for-sale or auction is always the thread-starter, with probably some "ten-ups" in between.

You either know this business or you don't - Domain boards don't really help these days, I think, or should I say I know they did back in the late 90's early/mid 2000's when all understanding was fresh and evolving

I'm with you for most of that. The silver lining for me is that this is the competition.

the biggest joke is when a user upgrade his namepros account to Blue or Gold , thinking he will sell his crappy names.

I’d like to add people making individual threads for their sales. There’s already a 700+ page thread for reporting sales, stop fishing for likes!

This was exactly the case in 2003. Only the numbers have changed. :-D

We encourage everyone to ask questions or suggest ways for improvement. Anyone can list negatives about anything, but productivity and progress come from discussing and finding solutions.

As I said, we had the same discussions 15 years ago. All that changed is the actual numbers. :-D

The presentation and framework of the list matters. It has to be presented in a way that invites solutions.

    You ruined all the fun.

    1. I listed the problems.
    2. Members contribute the possible solutions.
    3. Management take actions to solve the problems.

I think there was a lot "lost in translation" in the original post, and if it was made in the name of "fun", then most readers (myself included) won't get the joke.

Unfortunately, what I think can also be added to the list of "problems" is the significant number of "old school" members on NamePros who seem to have a big chip on their shoulder when it comes to their "weathered" view of the industry as well as an all-too-obvious disdain for newcomers (or "noobs", that tiresome tag often unfairly assigned to members based solely on their join date).

As the saying goes, the only thing that is constant is change, and there's always going to be lots of resistance to change especially from those of us who've been around long enough to have maybe an overinflated sense of nostalgia about "the good old days".

However, johnn, I do agree that too many members are way too self-absorbed, based on the growing number of "look at me, PLEASE!" type of posts and even click-bait style titles crafted to garner attention, likes or who knows what.

We're in an increasingly narcissistic society, and social media is largely to blame for that I think, or at least it's brought this all out into the open in a kind of ugly, unsettling way.

Apologies. Our intention was to encourage discussing solutions in addition to problems.

That can be fun too. :)

I am still hopeful in this business, even though i seem to be going through a challenging season.. I just think you have to be innovative and think outside the box. Sometimes challenges force you into greatness.

However I do agree with some stuff you said:

    1. (One word dictionary name - budget $50 - Good luck with that): Some budgets even start at $25 and they have the audacity to say that, if the name is really good they may consider paying the full $50. In some cases they warn you not to price the name at $50 just because that's their max. I agree with that in some cases. But when you ask for a premium level names..even if your budget is $500..The seller is actually sacrificing to meet your maximum. Don't assume everyone who prices their domain at your Max is shooting for the stars. People are too delusional about what wholesale means and about the value of domains. I like deals like everyone else... sometimes I give away deals and sometimes I receive amazing deals. But the problem is people have grown so accustomed to getting deals on namepros that they forget they are getting a deal. Now they think it's the standard, or it's their entitlement.. It's like people think they are doing you a favor to give you $25 if you posted food.com for sale. Obviously this would never happen, but it's just to make a point. People don't understand every name is different and wholesale rages based on that difference. I have bought names on here for $25 wholesale but i have also bought names for $75 and $250..etc all wholesale imo. Simply because I know and believe the return will far exceed the purchase price. So both the requests and the buyers are living in a bubble.
I will still try to get deals like everyone else..but not with a entitlement delusional mindset.
