This is the final reply of an enduser I was trying to sell a .tv domain.
This came after 2-3 email when I've asked for the desired price.
Please note It's not a trademarked domain, it's a generic one.
I'm sharing with you just to make a laugh on it...

"That is outrageous! Furthermore what you are doing is gross. Lowest
level of Internet life, like an insect or rodent at best. Reaching for
crumbs. Cyber squating is unethical you poach urls to later sell at a
profit. Foul!!! I own over 30 sites and use them all. I think what
you do is terrible. Please never contact me again and get a legit job
stop praying on stupid desperate people. You disgust me!!!!!"

LOL

I he has up to 30 websites, maybe you could offer him other domains :)

My best reply from the enduser, was from the NY jeweler. In reply on my first e-mail he responsed me with a text: Would you like to trade it for livemealone.fu?
:)

received an email from an enduser asking for a price on one of my domains.
I asked them to make an offer and they returned the message with please let us know what your price is.
I asked them again to make an offer. The last email they sent was, After consideration we decided to not purchase the domain for our project.
Do you have any other domains for sale?? That was a giveaway they were re-sellers just fishing for deals.:bah::hehe:

Well, at least you get some kind of enduser reply, even though this one is particulary demeaning. Did you respond back. I would. I find dealing with endusers the hardest part of domaining.

Out of 100 emails sent, I am lucky to get one or two back and interested. It seems like a waste of time. And to have to put up with a response like this. It's tough, but you gotta keep trying, in spite of getting back an enduser response like this.

:bah::hehe: Being a bottom feeder and lowlife domain poacher, as your enduser describes us, let me say this that some of those crumbs we get are tempting and tasty.

Yes, end user marketing can be discouraging at times for any extension. Sales much more easily occur when someone is looking to buy what you have to sell than when you want to sell to someone who isn't looking.

Yes,
I responded back
"Dear Mr. XXXXX,

first of all I think I've been very polite in contacting you and your
reply was very ill-mannered.
Secondly I think you should start talking only about subjects you have the knowledge.
You can find the definition of cybersquatting on wikipedia
Cybersquatting - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As you can see it refers to person that try to sell domains that contains trademark, and that's not my case because xxxxx it's a generic term with no trademark on it.
I will for sure not contact you anymore.
Have a nice day,

Regards,

Alessandro."

You are 100% right but consider that this time I have "keyword.tv" and the company name is "KeywordTv". So it matched perfectly their needs...

There are many uneducated or misinformed people in this world. The only thing you can control is yourself. Your reply, while unnesscesary, is well thought through. Continue to carry yourself in this manner and eventually you will find success.

I had a similar incident in a face to face encounter once, right in a trade show exhibit hall. I just told him I thought he was an idiot who probably wouldnt be in business very long and walked away.

Then I went and regd every possible typo of his name and I'll be darned if they all didnt pull in substantial traffic.

They may not have a registered mark but in the US any commercial use is enough to claim a common-law mark and UDRP panels do regularly recognize those. Always be careful.

I wouldn't have even wasted my time thinking about the dude, the comment, and for sure not bothering to reply... But cool.

If you are emailing people cold you can probably expect a fair number of angry responses.

I guess when you add in the comments from some about lucky to get a response after sending 100 emails (ie most probably consider the email to be junk), sending an email to sell them a domain (most people like domain speculators as much as used car salesmen and lawyers) and then probably asking far more than the name is worth (like any good domainer would do), it all culminates in some pretty annoyed people.

Email campaigns are a form of marketing and while the responses are few, it does work.

We are selling a legitimate product that the potential client needs and will be willing to pay for. Negative responses are part of the game and for me goes respectfully and directly down the memory hole.

No matter how many emails are sent, it costs nothing and the few that respond to the offer makes it all worthwhile.

This form of marketing is successful but patience and persistance are required.
