Here is what I would reply:

Hello Mr. XXXXX

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the domain name XXXXXX.com, I would like to mention that this name was acquired to develop a website relating to providing information on XXXXXX, but since the project has been stalled, I would be considering to sell this domain for a substantial offer.

If you would like to purchase this domain please reply with your best offer (in USD) and we can continue the negotiations from there.

Have a nice day

Best Regards,
Your Name

Hope that helps, Cheers!

If you can reply and ask for a phone number, then chat with them, you will get a Much better idea of there interest in the domain name.

Just remember 9 times of 10, people are just looking a deal, so no matter what you reply with, they are going to just not reply or reply back with something close to the first offer.

#1, it's hard to get an offer

#2, 9 X's out of 10, when you get an offer it's a Bargain Hunter

#3, Don't worry about it when somebody doesn't reply, it happens

#4, Stick with your asking price, if they want the domain, they will pay

I remember there was some good examples in the end-user thread. Go read through the entire thing again. :hehe:

And indeed, if the person doesn't reply, probably means he was looking to get it cheap. Move on to the next. :)
