The best place to outsource?

I am looking at creating a site that's really extensive, but I want to keep it cost effective and I want the best minds on this project. I have heard of elance, but are there any other places that might be even better?

I don't want to go outside namepros but this is my motherload project, I got money for christmas and I am putting it to mad use

There are number of sites likes elance. I think, you can start a thread at namepros.com and get details about the pros and select your team. Namepros has multiple developers and you can easily get help at anytime.

That is one thing I don't get on NamePros...

Since you can change that text for a couple NP$, it's hard to tell sometimes if somebody is REALLY banned or not.

Why somebody would type that, I'm not sure but I have seen it before on an Active Member. Or like Gazzip, First Time Poster!

I don't think that text should be able to change to:

Senior Member

The one thing I would add is that whichever site/person you use, make sure they're competent enough to handle the job you're paying them to do... Not fun correcting PHP errors when you're not all that good at PHP

I've largely found that those people claiming to be good at everything related to website development are more often than not good for nothing. If you need a PHP job done, get a guy who makes a living doing PHP. If you graphic design done, get a guy who does graphic design for a living. A bit more expensive than getting the wannabe jack of all trades, however if you value your time at anything, it's a lot cheaper in the end that way.

Just a word of caution :

Just because there is someone registered as a developer doesn't mean he really is.
Try to ask them questions related with your project request and check their portfolio / previous tasks

Most of the people there are developers for quick and easy tasks

I personally use oDesk and have found a really good worker through it. Their system makes things nice and easy IMO.

Why outsource, just learn a CMS like Drupal or Joomla. Sure it will take you a bit to get up to speed, but in the end you will probably be better off.
