You don’t see this everyday, an expired auction where only two bidders participate and go back and forth for over 400 bids and a $61,000 closing price. That’s what just finished on GoDaddy auctions for ShopeeMall.com. A name registered in 2016 at PublicDomainRegistry. Owned by a company called MicroOrange Technologies. The name certainly does not […]

Not as ridiculous, but late March, FamilyMart sold for $17,000. Also an Asian chain in several countries. Just rechecked to see if the end users have it, yet there is no “A” record. Lol.

More proof Godaddy auctions are a scam. If I listed that in public auction...NO ONE...would of even batted an eye.

Huge Domains must of had two ai programs go awry.

All I see is a $61,000 mistake and two software engineers losing their jobs.

Don't bid on an auction with a cracked screen on a smartphone.

Shopee is a large online retailer in Thailand and a competitor to Lazada Thailand ...coincidentally I was just looking on Lazada for a phone and on the home screen was a link to Lazmall though on mobile I think it showed as Lazada mall.....I see they are also selling in Phillipines so believe they are targeting most ASEAN countries

As I mentioned on TLD Investors, In 2 days Bidder 2 will only pay $17 + renewal fee

When there are only two bidders in an auction and they both bid up a domain to such a huge number you know they both were trying to keep everyone else out of the auction, and I'll bet bidder 1 will fail to pay leaving bidder 2 to only pay $17

I could be wrong but I doubt it.

Bidder 2's most bids are Auto Bids...does that prove its a Bot?

This is plausible but there would have been no need to bid upto that amount if both bidders are working together. That name probably wouldn't have gone above 1K.

    More likely a proxy bid.

When somebody enters their max bid and the auction house automatically bid upto that amount. Saves them bidding in 5/10 dollar bids manually.

Maybe “new” owner just forgot to change the registrant info after plunking down $60,000. Lol. Another price discovery? If so, Has quite a collection of other crappy domains too. Getting tired of seeing so much apparently fake sales nonsense reported.

Well the whois would not change yet anyway, plus Public Domain Registry might still allow renewal.

Such happens when a company is after an EMD, opportunities like don't come knocking everyday. You try to grab it when it's available and you can afford it.

No it looks like it was renewed on 6/22 same owner listed in whois, that's been the owner for years.

I have emailed @Michael so the name can be removed from Namebio.
