These guys must see something in the domain i can't, but shows the way single word .com domains are going when investors are battling it out with each other for domains that aren't that premium (on paper) for 6 figures.

Yeah I watched the whole thing from when it was supposed to close they went back and forth for another hour and twenty minutes. ZeeDomainer started waiting til 10 second left to reset the bid with Braden outbidding him by $50 then Braden let it go at the end and I guess he said what am I going to sell this for? Right? We know they are not building a brand, so to make the purchase worth it you need to sell it for $250,000? Mike Berkens has always told me for him and Rick it's 10 times. When they bought Boardroom.com for $75,000 he said $750,000 min, then with Clubhouse they decided it's a high 7 figure name.

Right but the two bidders Braden and ZeeDomainer would not jeopardize a reputation of a non paying bidder in my opinion.

    Probably not

@equity78 knows who the serious bidders and if he is confident the sale will go through then its a done deal as far as I'm concerned....

    Who is ZeeDomainer though?

I don't know their name but have seen them in many auctions there. I mean could they renege? Maybe, I am sure Braden would not have.

The point is if they have previous bidding/buying history which seems to be the case then I find it unlikely this will fail to go through.....

If I'm wrong then I have egg on my face - but I can live with that :xf.smile:

Back in 2017 DropCatch wrote here on Namepros

The verification process on DropCatch requires each user upload a valid government issued photo ID that is reviewed in the verification of any DropCatch account, and while this is the main verification process that the user is required to participate in, it is not the only method we utilize in the verification of DropCatch Accounts.

Although we have never required authorization of a credit card as you mentioned, we have increased the security of our platform by adding additional verification requirements, such as phone verification. Recent changes and increase to security in verification was the implementation of phone number verification for DropCatch’s platform.

We are continuously monitoring the reauctions to identify behaviors that we are able to eliminate by updated verification processes. While we are not able to prevent nonpayment 100% of the time the rate at which we have reauctions on domains has not increased. Because the integrity of our auction platform is of the utmost importance to us we monitor this behavior verify closely.

We do take non-payment very seriously and in addition to immediately and indefinitely suspending any account who has demonstrated a failure to complete payment we make significant efforts to prevent users from creating multiple accounts. We are continuously improving our tools utilized in this process and really appreciate feedback and are always working to ensure our platform meets the needs of user’s, so please feel free to contact us either by DM on Namepros or direct email at [email protected] with any comments, concerns, or questions we may answer for you.

We do reauction any domain we feel may have been compromised due to fraudulent behavior within the auction or regarding nonpayment on the domain name. We consider all forms of nonpayment as fraudulent behavior on our platform, even in the case of buyer’s remorse. As previously mentioned these accounts are indefinitely suspended. Reauctions are something we are continuously working to prevent and continue to explore ideas on how we can efficiently make our platform secure and easy to use. We want to ensure the best experience for our user’s.

Again, If you have any questions for DropCatch we are happy to answer them.

Bit steep for a reseller purchase if you'd ask me but a very versatile domain. Thanks for the share.

I don't see how verification process can stop someone from not paying, especially overseas one, they can close his account anyway

But what happens if he fails to pay? Would it drop to the 2nd bidder and drop all the way to first bid he failed to pay? Or would re-auction it?

Happened to me twice at snapnames back in the days when I won ft.net and alarabiya.com one fallen to the first war bidder and one was sold me me at a reasonable price by Nelson Bradley the executive at snapnames back then (yes the fraud one) he told me if you do to pay this amount we will have to re-auction it hehe crazy days.

That is not too much to take a name into six fig territory WHOLESALE.

E.g. I have Elix.com with 87 extensions regged and thousands of names using it as part of their name.

Checked few other of my 4L and other domains and many have comparable/better numbers.

The meaning is not a top-notch either as "recess in a wall". Definitely, overpriced. Fair wholesale value would be $10k to $25k.

It does have good DA at 30, but that could add $1k-3k to its perceived value.
