Hi everyone! The 3D market appears to be exploding! Record takes at the box office by movies such as Avatar and Alice in Wonderland and the announcement this week of the new 3D TV which is set to hit markets shortly have helped buoy interest in 3D multimedia platforms. Even the major American television network NBC has jumped in and will be broadcasting the NCAA Final Four basketball games in 3D!

A direct beneficiary from this renewed interest and greatly improved 3D technology is the domain business. Some of you had foresight many years ago and reg'd great names early on. Others (myself included) have only become aquainted with 3D domaining more recently, but see the huge potential this market has opened up for domainers.

Let this be the place for you to show off your 3D domain names. Ask for opinions, marketing strategies or even an appraisal or guesstimation of value. Also, feel free to post any relevant news releases/articles related to the 3D industry.

Well, it has a couple good things going for it - It is product related and .COM

The downside is the term shows no Exact, Phrase, or Broad search volume in Google Keyword Tool. I also don't show any exact Google results for "Kids Shutter Glasses" or "Kid's Shutter Glasses"

It could have some value down the road, but at this point there is not the demand for the term.

Is voip trademarked? I only ask because i was looking at a voip name before and it was trademarked. Not really sure how trademarks hang together mind you.

No, VOIP is an acronym for Voice over Internet Protocol.

a while back i was able to grab '3dFootballOnline.com' & '3dSoccerOnline.com', which i liked for the universal appeal (can be used for games, tv, pictures..etc.)... 3dHockeyOnline and 3dBaseballOnline are still avail.

and reportedly, Buy3dPC/com and Buy3dLaptop/com just sold for $1,000 a piece at Sedo... Buy3dPhone and Phones should probably be even bigger (?)

Some stats about "livetelevision" - no traffic and bids at sedo, only about 10 domains listed at sedo with that term, available at .mobi, .asia, .name, .tel, .ws, .cc, .me, ..., no reported sale with that term, only 431,000 google result for exact term, only 2,928 monthly searches...

Saying all that, I dont see much value in its 3d version.

There are MANY terms that are GOING to exist that don't presently.. there are going to be MANY terms that INCREASE in due time.. if i waited for the numbers to be to YOUR liking, i'd have to pay big money .. probably to some 'stupid' guy - JUST LIKE ME - who took the chance on the name in the first place.

No, I am just ordinary guy who lost some money when starting domaining with impulsive regging. With the help from good people on this forum, I was able to stop with my daily job 6 months ago (IT industry) and to earn enough money for a decent living, thanks to domaining, website revenue, hosting etc...
Now I am just trying to give something back through advices.

I didnt say you will not be able to sell live3dtv. I just tried to explain why it was available and why I dont see it in high $$$ range. I also bought some similar 3d domains for the reg fee. I hope I'll flip them for a small profit in the next year or a two.

wow.. i am very surprised to hear that...seriously

when you think of 'television' you think of 'LIVE'?
EVERYTHING is taped and then broadcast.. you think LIVE?

sports, news and awards shows are usually live (saturday night live), and a hanful of other shows from time to time, but i would never think of 'television' as redundant, by any means with LIVE.


but 'The 3d Experience', COMBINED with LIVE, IS the attraction

this is ALL NEW technology that's just starting to hit the mainstream popularity. . (new, as far as the general population can now have a piece of it too).

Forget the fact that, as a domain name, it's nicer and tidier, but do you feel the same way about LIVE 3d TV? (i know as a domain, live 3d tv is better, but i'm just curious)

I agree with 3Ddomainnames that lots of things that dont exist right now will be popular in the near future and I feel 3Dlivetv sounds very promising cause it does relay the message about the site content well. With all these big channels competing to launch their 3D channels, there will be those who will broadcast live 3d content like sports etc IMHO. So good luck with your domain!

But I also appreciate Mathep's opinion and his advise based on experience. I believe he's perfectly right about the impulsive buying thing ( thats the phase I'm in right now ) and this advise can really benefit some of us including me . I guess thats the best part of NP, one gets to learn so much from differnt opinions!
