Hi everyone! The 3D market appears to be exploding! Record takes at the box office by movies such as Avatar and Alice in Wonderland and the announcement this week of the new 3D TV which is set to hit markets shortly have helped buoy interest in 3D multimedia platforms. Even the major American television network NBC has jumped in and will be broadcasting the NCAA Final Four basketball games in 3D!

A direct beneficiary from this renewed interest and greatly improved 3D technology is the domain business. Some of you had foresight many years ago and reg'd great names early on. Others (myself included) have only become aquainted with 3D domaining more recently, but see the huge potential this market has opened up for domainers.

Let this be the place for you to show off your 3D domain names. Ask for opinions, marketing strategies or even an appraisal or guesstimation of value. Also, feel free to post any relevant news releases/articles related to the 3D industry.

I will start the thread off with a few of my own reg's..

3DHighDefinitionTV.com (also have plural)
3DHomeEntertainment.co.uk
3DHometheaters.org
3DStreamingMovie.com
3DVancouver.com
3DWhistler.com

Saucey. ;)

Picked up 3dcars.org the other day. I think it has potential.

I do have a question. Do people find better success at Sedo not listing any prices or have a listing price with a lower offer price? I have some names set up both ways but just curious about the success rate of either of the two.

What potential do you see? Please explain why you regged it. Time to get some balanced perspective around these parts.

I tend to agree with you here as I thought cars where already 3D?

I suppose it could be associated with 3D graphic design?

What potential do you see? Please explain why you regged it. Time to get some balanced perspective around these parts.

With 3d computers and monitors getting ready to hit the market in the near future there will be 3d websites associated with that. The Automobile industry is huge and people shop and do research online for cars. I think if people could shop for cars and view them in 3d on the computer it will be a big market. This applies to anything else as well.It could be used for other things in mind as well but that is where I see the biggest potential.

With all due respect, in your discretion it was an ADULT (news) link.
In the discretion of MSN, Reuters, Wall Street Journal, CNN, The Associated Press, NBC, AOL News, New York Daily, USA Today, and so forth it is a *general* / "maintstream" news story reflecting the pervasiveness of the 3D trend in contemporary culture. Young people need not be protected from this reality. IMO.

Just as news today about the Pope, the Vatican, and the ongoing sex scandal of "the church" is not an "ADULT" story, but a mainstream story about the state of a religious institution... that *young people* need not be protected from. IMO.

Ummm, Playboy - in any language is an Adult Magazine
links to it, or links reffering to the Porn industry will be either deleted
or moved from the general forum.

This is not up for debate, and it is not MY 'discretion" or your "IMO"
it is the FORUM RULES - You can discuss those with RJ.

3dPUSSYCats.com is available

:)

seriously...
... i'm sorry ms domainer and miss chif - no disresepct intended...
... but i think you're both being just a bit too sensitive about this right now.

I mean, think about the source - 3d Centerfolds or 3d Playboy - being published in C-NET
.. it's not like this topic is in some dirty little underground world that only the pervs know about - this will probably even make the front page of yahoo and aol (if it already hasn't).

The adult industry is still a part of the 3d world, the commerce world and business as a whole... there should be NO shying away from the industry because one person doesn't know how to cope with talking about it.

3d playboy or 3d centerfold.. 3d porn or 3d nude... whatever the case - they are still 'clean' identifiable terms not intended to offend - they are what they are, and a HUGE source of income on the web. I haven't seen a four letter word being used or even referenced.

My figures may be off here, but not too long ago i read that the porn industry makes more money than all four major sports entities combined(football, baseball, basketball, hockey - correct me if this has changed ?)... this is also an industry VERY RELEVANT to what we are talking about... the porn industry, like it or not, still sets the standards and kicks in the doors.

Did you know in the 80's the movie industry was AGAINST mass production of VHS and VCR tapes... but the porn industry accepted it - embraced it - and showed the others how to profit from it - thus DRASTICALLY changing the entrainment business as we knew it.

This should not be tucked away or have the covers pulled over your eyes because someone says SEX... THAT, is the very meaning of being childish.

I'm not lobbying for an all out adult themed war - i'm not talking about 'harcore' niche's or fetishes, none of that has been mentioned or blasted about - the conversation has really been clean (unless i missed something)... nobody should have to feel afraid to breach the topic, i'm sorry... we ARE adults here .. and last i heard, 18 makes you an adult ... do u really believe that more than 50% of your viewers are beneath that age?

Just something to consider.

ok guys i think i have to say something now

Mods have to use their discretion to decide on tricky situations and members may not always agree with it, a mod without discretion is a robot ! all humans have their views and opinions.

If you disagree with the mod's opinion, which in this case i do find the girls over-reacting on a news report just because its about playboy, what are you going to do about it ? go on and on in a never-ending arguement ?? it has to stop somewhere right ?

actually why bother to continue arguing over it since 1 or 2 missing news about the porn industry's adaptation of 3d won't really matter. i bet none of this argument's participants saw it turning into this epic forum fight that is a waste of time and energy

Links related to Adult content will be removed from this thread.
and instigating posts will get you a holiday. Nothing sensitive about it, adult content
will be removed! No questions asked.

3d playboy or 3d centerfold.. 3d porn or 3d nude... whatever the case - they are still 'clean' identifiable terms not intended to offend - they are what they are, and a HUGE source of income on the web.
Again...not the words - LINKS! Did you even see what the post was?
It wasn't a big deal, he linked to adult stuff, I removed his post - simple!

My figures may be off here, but not too long ago i reas that the porn industry makes more money than all four major sports combined (football, baseball, basketball, hockey)... this is also an industry VERY RELEVANT to what we are talking about... the porn industry, like it or not, still sets the standards and kicks in the doors.

Great that the porn industry makes all that money - what does that have to do with the 3d thread?
and it isin't for all eyes, we allow young member to join Namepros and not sure what the numbers
are, but even one person under 18 requires we remove the content.
Imagine if you had a young daughter/son browsing Namepros...what would you like them to
see or read related?

It wasn't words that has this issue at hand.......IT'S THE LINKS!
Don't link to Adult content PERIOD!

My views may be the same as everyone elses, but I respect the fact we have minors
on the board and we have areas for Adult stuff.

If you wish to continue this particular conversation, please PM me so the thread doesn't get
any more sidetracked. or start a thread in Namepros Info and Suggestions and you can complain about the Adult rule there.

There is nothing to consider, imho. It is against forum rules to post link to adult sites outside adult subforum. If you wish to discuss adult domains, you have adult subforum. If you dont like NP forum rules, you can always find another forum you'll like. This is not democracy, this forum is in private ownership and its owner can make any rules he/she wants :)

Lets stay on 3D track... Gamez3d was not bad buy, imho. I saw it droped 9. this month, and was about to register it, but spent too much money on NJ/tdnam. I am sure you'll be able to flip it for at least $100. I have couple domains ending with Z instead of S and I am happy with them - I got some nice offers on one, and another is making very nice revenue as a website.

What are gammers?

Brad
Gammers are the feminine of gaffers, but hopefully taken as a mispel of gamers. Old site with 21 archived pages. gammers .com redirects to a gaming site. Thought it may be worth the punt, but maybe not. One never knows their luck.

---------- Post added at 06:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:00 AM ----------

People who love gammon of course!

:p
With fried eggs and tomatoes, sausages, mushrooms and fried bread. A good hearty English breakfast.

Nice pick up. I like the 4 letter 3d domains. I have had a few offers on some of mine but turned them down.

I picked a 4 letter today as a drop also.

UD3D.com

With talks of Ultra Definition in the future (which is probably many years away I thought it would be a good one to hold on to for the long haul. It also could be used for Universal Design , or a University (d) site.

3DMOBILECAMERA.(COM)

What ya think?

I don't mean to sound flippant but aren't all cameras mobile? I have never really heard the term 'mobile camera' used in mainstream product advertising. 'digital camera' or 'video camera' but not 'mobile' just my 2 cents. Seriously, good luck with it though.
