Truly incredible domain hack. Congratulations!ch.at
That really is a great one, especially now that chat.com is off the market forever (and of course with ChatGPT taking over the world).ch.at
How is it off the market forever? That really is a great one, especially now that chat.com is off the market forever (and of course with ChatGPT taking over the world).
I wouldn't sell that for less than six figures.

I think I just had an email saying it sold for 8 figures again...chat.com was just purchased for millions of dollars by the founder of HubSpot. He's never going to sell it.

Definitely not.

He sold it again, already. With good profit I may add. Unless he's talking shit on LinkedIn.
He hyped it up to sell it then. You're totally right, blows my mind. I assumed what you'd heard was just an echo of the first sale. My apologies.
I just heard him talking about buying it on a pod recently. That along with him talking about his "Chat interface" concept and how passionate he is about that idea... I'm shocked he sold it. But a truckload of money is a truckload of money, everything has a price, etc. Im impressed.
I had also heard that there was a other buyer for chat.com (possibly on the Domain Name Wire podcast?). Some corporate outfit that really wanted it but was being slow/difficult about closing the deal and thus he was able to sneak in and get it. I wonder if that's who bought it from him.
What a story!

gimmicky domains switch to the .com as soon as they can since they get trashed by the SEO by existing sites with non typo domains (unless you are extremely popular like visual.ly )
you might even attract attention of legal on accusations of hijacking, copyright infringement or squatting. So only real usage is for shortening your existing url.
my two favorites of mine are steel dot horse (motorcycle) and pizza dot salon (self explanatory). ty.
had many more before, but for now I only have : SendBit.co.in
OK, I'm always open to persuasion, So I've taken the time to read through the entire thread. So what have I learnt, if anything.ch.at
