It's true, the few remaining "dot Mobey" teeny niche enthusiasts - like no others - are presently (and historically) the most frightened and defensive when it comes to the overall topic of the highly brandable .TEL and its forthcoming launch, IMHO. :guilty:
I wonder why they are so nervous and scared of the highly brandable .TEL extension?!? IYHO's. :|

-Jeff B-)
who said we are nervous because of the highly brandable .TEL and its forthcoming launch?

this isn't serious, is it :?

Jeff, your posts are too funny
if other .mobi supporters saw your posts like i do, it would be so much easier...

you start your sentence saying it's true, so you state as a fact and in the end you say it's IYHO

wouldn't be easy to admit to yourself you were hurt by the extension because mistakes were made (many people were and i was partially as well) and move on?

instead of moving on you keep with the same posts everyday taking hours to type them with all that tags and with this sig that reflects it has nothing to do with the extension; it shows resentment

Jeff, remember one person alone does nothing to an extension, neither to the good side nor to the bad and be sure you won't be the one who will make .mobi succeed or fail

go .tel, go!

You really have no idea of what you're saying do you??!? You just make things up, hoping to fan some sparks and get those 'eyeball counts' up somehow! You notice how you never talk about domains you own, sold, bought, stole, whatever! Never about your domaining. You just 'flame'. Sad. :bah:

My major concern about .tel is that it is the perfect target for spam harvesting.

No way. Nothing to do at all :)

Then I don't see anything interesting with this extension.

My theory is that the highly brandable .TEL - like the .WEB - is such a natural insofar as an new extension being so easily and instantly recognizable, short & concise, and highly visible (and, thus, adoptable ... and with a an inherent level of perceived credibility) ... all of the traits that the very problematic and awkward "dot Mobey" does not have - and that can be explained for its demise in great part, IMHO.
This is why, by and large, those closest with the "dot Mobey" are so threatened and jealous of its mear existence and branding potential! :guilty: :imho:

Just my humble observation. :gl:

you mean, .tell right? go up to someone on the street and say: "how would you spell tel"

i guarantee you people will answer tell every single time. the results would be no better than asking the common person to spell "mobi".... you might want to come up with a new argument.

.TEL is a competitor to .MOBI in the same way a golf cart is a competitor to a SUV. Both are targeted at companies wanting a mobile presence, but ultimately they are in different categories.

I'm sure a few companies will find a use for TEL, but overall it will be a horrible investment opportunity. It's not something for domainers should be looking forward to.

Now pay attention Jeffie. This is not from one of your 'usual suspects' file. But then again you might want to explain, with your normal berating passion, to RJ and others, why it is you do believe .tell will be SO popular!! IYHO of course!

^ Personal insults are not necessary, friend ... and I've never stated that the .TEL "will be so popular" (please re-read all of my related comments regarding its brandability versus that of the highly problematic "dot Mobey"), IMHO. :gl:
I've repeatedly stated that I am not buying any, as well!

Thank you for not taking my comments and opinions out of context next time ... in order to - again - further your .MOBI Agenda™ and just because you are jealous and threatened by the highly brandable .TEL! :red: :snaphappy:

Why promote how great somethings brandablility is that it is going to cause problems for other extensions, if you don't think it has any purpose??? And no personal insults were made, and nothing was taken out of context, by me!, jeffie.

And what mobi agenda do I have??!? Or is that just a your way of branding me somehow to make you look innocent here?? I've 'never' pushed or hype-praised .mobi, and if you'll read thru my postings son, you'll see so. I've just always challenged you for your biased nonsense based belittlement postings on .mobi. Owning them, and calling you on the carpet for you negativity positings, is not an extension 'agenda'! Big dif there little one.

Jeff, so thats your point. ok.

you really dont have to hype up .TEL to prove that point... common sense is alive and well within me and i know when most people are asked how they would spell "mobi" without any context given it would be "moby, mobey, etc"

which is the same with .tel.... but if given the context for either of them (i.e. Telephone, Mobile) people would get it. the thing is, words are created all the time on the interwebs, people soon learn the spelling if it gains enough traction.

.tel will face stiff competition from:
T.sitename.com
tel.sitename.com
sitename.com/tel
sitename.com/T
sitename.com/telephone
the many existing .com directories, and your local YellowPages directory.

Half the users will type in .tell by mistake.

----------------------------------------------------

Another useless extension .... all hail the eternal .com!!!

----------------------------------------------------
(i have nothing against .tel, although I question it's investment value. But everything the naysayers say about .mobi goes double for .tel.)

Except for its length, and amount of its syllables ... and degree to which it is more "natural" and thus more easily brandable in this regard, IMHO. :gl:
I agree that it's investment value may be suspect ... toward which I've repeatedly stated that I will not be buying any! :guilty:

By the way, what the heck is an "interwebs"?!? :|
Thanks much,

Oldie but Goodie thread.

Time to launch: 21 days, 18 hours ... :gl: :talk:

Link: http://www.telnic.org

PS. For those new or newer to the highly brandable .TEL extension ... please peruse through this entire thread (and others like it) for an historical discussion and perspective, IMHO. :gl:
As you will quickly uncover, the struggling "dot Mobey" is most fearful of the timing and forthcoming release of the highly brandable .TEL :guilty:

All the best, and as always ... please don't spend any money without thoroughly researching all potential domain name investments!
