For those who appreciate the power of the internet you may want to keep an eye on The Tea Party 2007.

Ron Paul is on track to set a one day record for fund raising in a single day. Watch as as tens of thousands throw their money behind Ron Paul, today, Dec 16th 2007. The Tea Party is on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party in 1773 where the patriots threw tea into Boston Harbor in protest of unfair taxes:

Over 6 million $ in 24 hours.
25,000 first-time donors.
118,000 individual donors this quarter alone.
Biggest fund-raising day in political history.
Millions more than any other Republican candidate for this quarter.
Five times Huckabee's fundraising for Q4.

Simply amazing. :tu:

Amazing indeed! Ron Paul certainly deserves more attention. I hope he does well in Iowa next month!

What a great contribution. Largest online political donation ever! The funny thing is I've been watching the news today on TV and haven't seen one report about this event...so it isn't that funny...

Yes,

Ron Paul and his supporters had a HUGE day. I am a supporter and I donated as well.

I like a lot of what he has to say and hope more people get to hear what he has to say. Although he's not a favorite among the main stream press his opinions are eloquent and sincere. I already see other politicians picking up on his positions and talking points and that in itself is a small victory.

Hopefully people will take note as Dr. Paul (Yes he's really a doctor, a gynecologist) is gaining support from all across the political spectrum. This is because he speaks truth to the disenfranchised who feel our politicians no longer represent Americans but rather special interests and large corporations.

He also wants to bring the troops home from Iraq. That makes a lot of sense to me.

Cheers :)
