OK, so I have the highest bid - and it doesn't look like I can remove my bid. Am I obliged to make the purchase if I win? I notice when I won a name before it had me "purchase" the domain and enter credit card and all that. I presume if I refuse to do this the name will simply go back into the pool?

Anyone have thoughts on the expired name auction in general? I found it a pleasant alternative to pool.com and snapnames where the min is $60 and competition is more fierce.
Thanks

Why did you bid if you didn't intend to purchase?

They can cancel your account for retracting a bid once you have won.

OK. You know how it is....you get caught up in a bidding frenzy and make stupid decisions. Then when the dust settles you realize it wasn't a good idea. Oh well...lesson learned I guess.

You are not going to end up with any good domains if you are counting your pennies and agonizing over this. Buy it, suck it up and think twice before you bid. It's not GoDaddy's fault that you agreed to their terms of service.

At first, you could ignore and the name would disappear. However, lately, they pretty much force you to take it. I bid on one I didn't realize was misspelled recently. I tried to ignore it to see if it would go away. Until paid, I could not bid on any more names. I was also sent warnings that the account would be suspended if not paid.

Be very carful before committing to the "I agree" button, or chalk a few up to bad decisions or haste.

Yes, the days of 'passing' on names, having them quickly and quietly default to the next highest bidder appears to be over. This should help things in the long run don't you think?

Might sound harsh, but it's the truth. Don't bid unless you are ready to pay up.
