Hello,

-RJ- probably has heard it from me for at least 5 times now :yell: , but IMO the .us forum needs to be replaced with the "ccTLD forum".

No, its not because i hate it THAT much, but because its simply because .US IS a REAL ccTLD (not a pseudo global ccTLD, eg. .TV)

To give ".us" its own forum is almost quite ridiculous considering theres .DE (the worlds #2 extention), .NL, .CO.UK, .FR , .COM.AU , .CN, ETC etc. which are much more developed and have much more investors.

It has always bothered me to see the .us forum, since that already excludes everyone whose not american in namepros.

Lets be honest, how many ccTLD threads have been posted in "Domain Discussion"? TONS. We already have a ccTLD sales forum, theres no reason why we shouldn't have a ccTLD forum.

Also, the .US forum gets a fraction of the activity of .mobi / .TV forum. (A whopping 2 posts today). By combining it with the other 250+ ccTLDs, it would greatly increase activity.

Now of course I am biased (i love ccTLDs :hehe:) but it really does make common sense. .US is a ccTLD...

So I propose that NP replace the .US forum with a ccTLD one.

Thanks,
Sam

I like your logic.

I don't buy ccTLDs really but what you are saying makes since..

Why is .us so much more special than all the others, enough to get its very own room.

I agree with your idea!

Makes sense to have a general and all-encompassing ccTLD forum, but why not still keep .US as well?

Why not just add an extra forum called ccTLDs and move .TV & .US to it as subdomains?

RJ can probably confirm this thru actual stats, but my guess is that most domainers in this forum are American, and may be interested in the .us cctld, in which case, a .us forum makes sense. This is the same reason for the .tv and .mobi subforums: if a great many forum members are interested in the extension, then NP will cover it. As a side-benefit, doing so ensures that .us/.mobi/.tv threads don't drown out discussion in other areas.

Indeed, but with the lack of any activity in the forum, i doubt most of the American's are investing in .US (most in gTLDs), whereas the foreign domainers probably would invest more in ccTLDs.
