Ok ! Its now 3 months now and till now i havnt made a single sale...not even close to making sale !

I havnt rcvd a single Query ! Its frustrating .... !

I usually concetrate on short /brandable and easy to remember names !

Long Generic names aint my type like "webmasterstoolsonline.com" doesnt matter how high the OVT is on that !

And its so frustrating to know a name sounding just like yours sold at sedo for XXXX !

So makes me wonder How long did it take u to make your first sale ?

Hang in there. It took me a couple of YEARS to make a sale. Try focusing on ways to monetize while you are awaiting sales, trading links, networking, etc.

It took me 6 months before my first sale, so indeed hang in there!
Maybe in the mean time you could develop one of the domains you currently own, also try to get as much exposure to your domains as possible: listings on sedo, afternic, and you your own signature here at namepros or other forums.

Iam developing some site which I believe in so that there is market for the developed site with traffic !

Developing a signature is great idea ... havnt thought about that !

I would also recommend hunting down expiring domain names - these domains have obviously more built-in value then a new regg.

Took me 6 months to sell my first and currently my only domain sale to date. 25dec.com I bought here for $10.00 and sold it last month for $50.00

I agree, it is frustrating and I'm broke. Especially compared to some of the big boys here who throw money at .mobi's like its the end of the .com's

Hang in there, hopefully it's money in the bank for all of us.

Iam geting some crap offers like 10$ for domains like xample.org (5-10 genuine hits), sometime I feel shud i take it ?

Yes, stick in there. After lots of offers on some domains, sold a few for $5-$50 here on namepros, but only today sold my first and recieved payment from Sedo!!!!

Maybe ask other members if they want to link exchange, the more exposure you get the more chance you have.

STICK AT IT.

Takes time for the right buyer. You don't want to sell a name for $5 when someone comes along later and offers a good amount more, do you?

It took me a few months to make my first sale. Yours will come, and who knows - it maybe one that is in the top 20 of domain sales of the week. :)

I had a problem when i first joined the industry... that problem was asking like $1000 for an undevoloped templaterave.com or domains that i thought sounded good.. Then i got hit with the idea.. if the domain wasnt registered before, thats because nobody wanted it.. Dropped down the price to like $20 and boom... I was making money

I made my first sale in about a week... but it was for, like, $10. It took me a long time to get anything over $50. Even today, I rarely make deals over $100 but I've had some $200-400 deals before. Just stick with it and something is bound to happen :)

if it was a straight jp registration then you could have registered it for half that price at
jp-domans.com
re the main thread, you can force a sale by putting it into a timed auction with a low starting price or even the np weekly auction!

Hang in there. I just sold my first name at Afternic and it marks the first time I've sold a domain outside of a forum. I've had accounts at both Afternic and Sedo for 1.5+ years.

Is there a jinx that I hear that you should never refuse the first offer of your first sale else u will not make a sale for a long time ?

And that after making the first sale the second, third comes faster !

Or is it just that you expect way too much from your first sale ;) !

There's isn't a jinx, I refused offers twice because they were simply too low - one of them was on the domain I just sold. However, you do have to be careful and not let your eyes get too big when it comes to a price. My best advice is to research similar names and talk to people you know well and trust if you get an offer and are unsure.

I'll have to get back to you about the speed of that second and third sale. ;)

Hang in there, it'll happen. After I started 3 years ago it took 2 months before I sold anything and even then it was just 2 names @$25 each. At about the 6 month mark an offer came through in the $xxxx's and made my day.

In the meantime, monetize and develop some of the sites you have. Take one or two domain names that you think are good, develop mini sites on them with a little useful information and then try and get at least a little traffic to them. Your domain name will look even better if it is already getting traffic.
