Status Thread For NamePros Forum Upgrade

Hey everyone!

Work is already underway on a major upgrade to our forum, centered on an upgrade to the vBulletin software version from 3.0.6 to the newest 3.8 version. This will be the first full site update our site has had in the last four years.

Our NamePros Dev Team (which is just me at the moment) is working on the software on a separate development server from a comprehensive list of 22 unique features of NamePros that would need to be rebuilt to work on the new platform. There will be some features changed, some removed, and a few new ones added when the changeover is made.

I'm starting this thread now to keep the community updated with the progress of the upgrade and to discuss what changes there may be in the site design and layout. My goals with this update is to keep the "feel" of the site as close as possible to what it is now, while bringing new features online to provide a better experience for our members.

As always, suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Wow a new NP theme since I've joined I believe!

A little too bright due to a lack of contrast, but that's probably me staying on the computer the last 5 hours.

I'm already used the pink, and the icons (e.g. next to threads) are a big improvement on the old ones. I still don't like the pinkified logo though, it's just not right...

PS- the pink looks a lot lighter on my Mac than it did on the PC...

I'm assuming this isn't finished because I'm a few thousand NP$ short.
Will the NP$s just reappear in our accounts when the update is done?

(I don't envy the amount of work you're having to do, but :tu: for what's been done so far))

Actually NP$ have been converted to N$ at the rate of 0.017

That means the NP you see in your account now are equal to US$.

Maybe the NP Balance should show as N$ to clear the confusion.
