and all the hype by some namepros users am starting to think maybe there are some me.tv godaddy /enom /Employers as it just dont add up.

SOLD to cambkey @ $15.00 (There is a reality check. Maybe the .tv market is NOT as hot as what people are saying.) Applications.TV..
also poor sale of casinonews on sedo.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Maybe it's not hot, so if yo have any good names that you want to dispose of very cheap, I will take a look at them.

Seriously though, I don't know much about .tv except that I see them advertised on television more than anything else besides .com.

As the pc, mobile world begin to merge with TV/movies etc, .TV will be huge. Technology is key and its right around the corner if not here already with phones like the iphone etc. Give it time.

You mean pumpers like the ones for penny/subpenny stocks?

I do not believe it is true in this case.
There are supporters/investors for .TV, but not the ones hyping up .TV so that they can sell their own .TVs and get out with $.

I have been looking over the Dot TV forum/.TV related topics for months.
There were some who were skeptical, but they kept regging good names that were available.
Some of the names (previous thought to be somewhat worthless unless developed) can now be sold for XXX to X,XXX or even more for the domain name alone.

It's not the same like before.
.TV is being promoted by major registrar companies like Enom, Godaddy, Namecheap (Reseller of Enom, but nevertheless popular)

There are TV companies that are regging .TVs.

Many video related websites are popular (like youtube, metacafe and more) and are on the rise.

.TV has a good future imo.

You have to remember that when selling on a forum you have to be prepared to expect reseller bids! You will not get the price an enduser will pay (unless you are extremely lucky).

Lol, what the hell is going on?.

Applications sold for $15 and suddenly .tv is dead.

Are we forgetting all the $xx,xxx sales we know of,let alone the ones that we don't get to find out about due to NDA's.

I have had many offers on my names, and sold quite a few in the last month for good roi.

Who would have thought we would see the day .tv was next to .com in Godaddy search bar, or that GD would be promoting .tv so actively.
100% increase in.tv registrations and companies like mercedes benz and audi using .tv, also all the adverts we see on tv now for domains using .tv.

.TV is very much alive and kicking

And i dont work for GD,DM, ENOM or any other registrar

with Richard Rosenblatt at the helm & master of .TV there can only be amazing times ahead.

you know the Guy? The one who inherited myspace asa nonentity & 'flipped' it for a billion or so a year later.
He has the midas touch, more so than anyone . It's that simple
If i wasn't so invested in mobi & com & .uk i would dump all my .uk to get more .tv
In fact i may just do that

I'm not sure about the outcome of preg.tv in the marketplace, but I'm pretty certain that there are no spies (at least the ones that can influence our minds) among the mist of .TV forum.

I've done a lot of research on .TV, and I believe in the investment of .TV domain names.
If I didn't, I wouldn't pay high prices for my premium domain acquisitions or register reg-fee .TVs.

i sometimes have the same feeling, this is more obvious when it come to appraisals.
Since i(we..) dont have any proofs and i still like the tv domains
i m not going to stop investing.

What's your total investment for .TV? There are people who invested thousands of dollars, and waiting with patience. CasinoNews.TV went for $421, although a poor sale, it doesn't mean .TV wont perform well.

In fact, I missed the boat, and found the .TV world a bit later. Anyhow, I'm holding some decent names. There are people who always hate a growing team. I do have a premium portfolio of .mobi names, and of course sold some of them for xx,xxx. Still there are people, bashing the .mobi TLD.

Domaining is just like a modern gambling, with the feature of choosing the name you want. In other words, you are the master of your fate. Choose a catchy name, wait for a year or two, and sell it to an end-user.

Hold your .TV names with patience, and wait for the correct time to sell, imho.

All the best.

Hey Hullswingersclub,

No offence meant, i like our chats and like you.

But,why are you deciding the entire future of .tv on names like applications and preg? they are not brilliant names

Imo they are only worth about $40,( no offence meant to the current owners, i have names that imo are worth about reg fee also, i am letting them drop).

Also who are these suspected spies you speak of? name names.

So, In your opinion a $20+/- hand reg that sells for $421 is a poor ROI?????

Applications is an OK name, could have a very good return down the road as well. I think it could have sold a little higher here reseller, but the "closes 24hr after the last bid" is a killer when the last bid is made @ 2:30am my time. Had it closed at a specific time, one that was a more universal time it might have gone a little higher.

I've had one excellent sale, a number of very good sales, and a couple stinkers... Just really depends on timing and a bit of luck - same with every other domain name and extension...

My preg.tv is just one name out of countless .TV names that have been registered by many people in the world.

Its worth will be decided by the bidders/resellers.
I'm letting them decide. That's why I've put it at $1.

Normally, I really don't like how my name on the sale thread is being used as an example because its outcome may be affected, but I will let it go this time as I know you are a good person and a respected member of the namepros community.
+ I've never pushed a domain from my godaddy.com account to another godaddy account before, and I think it'll be a good learning experience for me as I have fair number of domains stored in my godaddy account (and increasing as we speak). :)

I sold tats.tv for $599 --- .tv's not dead.

I have many VERY nice .tvs.

PM for the list as I'll not spam it here or you can see it in the .tv marketplace thread.

Not seeing that much hype really. Maybe over-enthusiasm?

FWIW - the views of an ex-investor (i.e. I don't buy 'em, I sell 'em):

I have now sold nearly 30.tv's. 25 last week alone (ooooh aren't I a clever boy then :) ). I had a reality check myself a while back and realised that .TVs are sellable - but only expect a modest profit. People's expectations are waaaaaaaaaaaaay too high.

My highest sale so far is routes.tv (back in March) for $xxx on SEDO so I am certainly ahead at this point. But it does surprise me how some good names fail to generate any interest whatsoever. I have statement.tv - 500 million google results. Quite a popular word I thought. Gone in every extension. Cool name for a site featuring political speeches I thought - wrong! I couldn't get one enquiry - not even for $15.

I sold cuddly.tv (great name for kids tv site, toyshop site??) for ------ $1 - it was so embarrasing, I didn't even bother collecting payment lol

Preg.tv I don't think will generate any interest as it isn't very good IMHO so isn't a particularly good benchmark. Erm..so what am I trying to say. Ah yeah, maybe this forum isn't a good place to assess the climate as it's a buyers bazaar kinda thing and we're all after a rock bottom bargain. Which is cool if you look at it like that - buy one for 20 sell for 40 you've got yourself a quick pizza. What I've also noticed is a genuine market for music/media related names. (hmm...what a surprise!!).

I do have a few really good ones 'in the bank' that I'm gonna hang on to. My best is shamalamadingdongboppitybopshooowap.tv so PM me with any offers.

Cheers, Umma.

hullswingers- i wonder about you dude- you keep coming on the tv boards- say tv is dying or dead, two days later you are getting appraisals on the new premiums you bought, then you are knocking tv again in one way or another- just before your next purchase-

what gives-

all i am trying to say if not not very well .is that there are people who i feel are hypeing dot tv up to much who make out there experts becouse maybe they have a lot running on dot tv.
drawing other domainers in for there own gain...
and i think there are spys in the camp to hype it up.
my view thats all i maybe be right.
lets just end it there i should have kept this to myself.
