Smash,
My understanding is that those types of names are in IDN format (punycode?). I would personally purchase them without the symbols because people are more inclined to go to type them without the symbols. I am pleased to see folks are picking up some decent regs. Hope I made sense.
I have already had offers on my personales.tv (personals) and bancos.tv (banks), told the potential buyer(s) they could add ONE ZERO to the end of their offer now or add THREE ZEROES in 5 years. LOL!
I am glad to se so many domainers interested on the spanish .tv names market. We are a little bit behind the english core but i agree it is an interesting investment. Not only for Spain but for South America , one of the biggest Internet markets.
I have been investing on many .tv names and also developing them with full screen video platforms. Dont forget that you are visionairies that are a couple of years ahead, so you should help normal people to open their minds with real .tv videos and showing them the potencial of the .TV.
I have the strengh that my native lenguage is Spanish.
But you are in the good way. Also because many words that in english are premium names in spanish cost 29 dollars. For example the other day i bougth Tigre.TV that means Tiger.tv for 29 dollars while tiger.tv was an expensive XXX premium.
Well i will continue uploading my flash video plataform to more .tv urls.
Martin,
Glad to hear your thoughts! It looks like quite of few of us are interested in the Spanish market. What Spanish .TV's do you own (if you don't mind me asking)?
I think that the clue is to invest on names that are related to rich media aplications. I have invested in names that are valued in my region and country, like for example i have 6 province (states) names like www.neuquen.TV , that it is like www.nebraska.tv or something like that.
Then i bougth www.chile.tv
that it is one of the most rich countries in southamerica. Also i have all the national braocast channel and newspapers (yes believe or not, this people is sleeping, they shoul fire the marketing ceo, i have 6 huge nationl TV stations.TV) and then i have names like www.sprite.tv or produtora.tv that means film producer in portugueise. Also have productora.com and consultora.com (counsulting.com)
Well those are some of my domains, but i think that the business it is in developing them NOW, because in the next year we will have a lot of tools available and the moment it is know when everything is virginp, and it is more imortant to open minds people than a generica name. like may be ouch.tv it is better than many generic names if you make a good proyect now. Like for example christmaswishes.TV
Martin,
In general .TV extension has been garnering great exposure with new ventures and more sales (end user and/or wholesale). The Spanish .TV market has shown some great sales. I believe they have been quite beneficial for the end user as well (e.g. Deportes.tv for $4,000). Time will tell.
I spent $2,000 on a premium for Espanol.tv and was already offered $20,000 for it which I turned down.
Also, have: Pelicula.tv (Movie), Modelo.tv (Model), Medico.tv (Medical)
Pornografia.tv (Pornography) and many other type spanish names. There is huge upside in both the .tv and spanish market and there are deals out there.
About half a year ago I regged fisico.tv. I think it means physics or physical in spanish (and in Italian too I think) I use ejercicio as keyword, which means exercise.
After that I decided not to reg domains in languages I'm not to familiar with. You not only need to know the literal definition but also the normal usage.
Any native speakers, feel free to condemn or applaud me
