This response is lame.
That's a screenshot showing your support asking for details to "return" the domain name back to somebody's account with details on when they absolutely need to transfer or renew the domain name.
Clearly, the domain names were removed from said accounts before they typically should have been. It does not require a leap of logic to figure that out.
Now, I don't believe that Spaceship was trying to steal their domain names. You probably make more money in a day than both domain names are worth.
But a mistake happened and your response here leaves much to be desired.
And if your TOS is truly worded the way
@wwwweb describes, then that's even worse. Means you could legally choose to take a domain name that a registrant expected to still be within the grace period IF you like.
You say you don't do it just because your TOS says you can but that does not inspire much confidence at all.
That's like poing a Bazooka at someone's head and telling them "we are just going to have a nice, quiet dinner" and when queried about the giant gun, you reply with "Oh this? Don't worry about the giant gun pointed at your skull. I'm not going to pull the trigger. You can trust me."
Just remove the gun.
Trust is not necessary.
