I started domaining with a scam mail that i got...I used to own a small website with 250-300 uniques a day making 20 bucks a month...One fine day I got a scam mail saying please submit your website for offers..It was from some allen guy from toughguy.net....Then he asked me for appraisal and offered me 1200 for the domain...I knew this was a scam and so i googled domains and came upon namepros.

I started reading stuff and following admins and mods at first...then I started following some specific users who just parked ... I started spending almost 10 hours on namepros / day reading... i became addictive...

However in the last 23 days I have sold domains worth 1000 $ which is probably my total revenue for last 16 months....

The main secret to my success is basically reading Matt(bodis.com),Spade,Rj,Varon,Donny,SDX,intelbank,mwzd,a user with the bluish avatar with a child in it and water and a few others....

I started reading all the posts from MATT and SPADE quite recently and have seen how they have grown...Unlike Matt i neither have 30k budget to start , 30% bonus from sedopro nor started out in feb2006...Unlike spade i neither have the negociation skill or the understanding of this domain game....Unlike RJ and admins I neither have the courage of running a huge site...what I have though is an insight and a depp desire to learn.....

For all the newbie domainers like me I would suggest reading past threads where these users have commented . It is very good to follow spade and Matt to start and then go to other domainers who each have a strategy of their own...I know I would probably spend 2 more moths reading all the thread that these users have commented before i start some serious domaining in K budget.....

Yeah,

its alot of researching this domain thing. When I read posts from people who say domaining is easy it makes me boil. After a while the researching is just plain hard work, so being inspired is added fuel for domaining.

Thks for posting

Your post actually had me think of a chinese fable i read a long time ago.. I actually seeked it out again..

When people say that domaining is easy, think of this fable..

Fable

I actually use this *A Lot* in discussions with people.. And it's a good inspiration also!

Awesome! :tu::tu::tu: Great to hear that this lil corner of the virtual world is contributing to your success, after all, that's what this community is here for.
A bit surprising to see my name listed with Spade, Matt and SDX as they all have significant knowledge and/or an amazing portfolio. Nonetheless, i'm not upset to be named alongside them ;)

Keep on domaining, maybe i can step in your footsteps and pull off some sales totaling 1k as well... :tu:

Its definitely nice to be mentioned here, but there are many other members who write solid stuff in here. I wish I could write all their names here, but its too long a list. John (-X-) has taught me some great pointers on arbitrage. Damion is another superb knowledgeable member here. His posts are wonderful. I have also noticed netmeg write superb articles on adsense/adwords related topics. Almost every member has something to offer which others might really not know. Its just that some decide to come to the forefront and write openly, while the others prefer a laid back approach.

One tip from me would be - make use of the quick search tab on the top right of the forum. When I started off domaining this year, I made extensive use of this feature to search all my queries. It brought up great posts by members here. To get better search results use the advanced search feature and specify "display results as posts" rather than threads. That in itself, should bring up tons of great knowledge posted by experienced members here.

:)
