I was doing some research and found a 3 word combo that has an exact google search volume of Local Search Volume: September:22,200 and Global Monthly Search Volume:12,100
and it's not an wiered combo, it makes sense. Is is worth registering it?
P.S. It's a dot com, forgot to mention

Don't ask, just register!
if you find the domain is worthless one day,
simply listing it on the domain bargain sale forum.

for myself, 3 words is too long, my 2 cents.

I do three-, four- and longer domains all the time. They are almost always available because domainers are stuck on the idea that they are worthless, and they would probably not do well selling back into the speculator market -- but if you have a descriptive, grammatically-correct phrase that gets search volume, particularly if it is product/service related (ie. affiliate $) I say get it. It is hard to understand why so many other domainers seem to turn up their noses at them, frankly.

It's probably not worthless, but I'm still finding lots of unregistered .com's that have 2 or 3 times that search volume. So you might want to do a little more hunting. Not that search volume is everything.

Probably worth it.

Definitely worth it if you don't see too many search results page.
Most definitely worth it if above is true plus if it's in high paying category.
Absolutely definitely worth it if two above is true plus if you can find some high paying top niche affiliate programs for it.

One time, I had domain (LLLLLLLLL-LLLLLL-LLLLL.com) which
generated $122.19 during last year at Parked.com

It produced 460 visits, 301 clicks with RPC of $0.41

It did not have much search with just about 3,000 exact searches.
However, it was in travel industry with average CPC of about $4.00

Probably NOT worth it if the search terms are something you can NOT monetize other than adsense.
Some search terms - you just can NOT monetize no matter how many searches are done everyday.

It very well could be worth the reg. Sounds like you might wanna keep an eye on it, put it in the maybe pile, keep looking and possibly come back and register the name if you still want to.

Good Luck.

the only problem is that it's not a generic term, it is geo-located in the turism industry, i'll try and do a research on this thing to see how well other geo-located domains are doing, and i'll probably buy it, it's not that much of loss (7.5$)

That is definitely above average search volume... so it is interesting. However, without knowing the actual words I can't make an informed recommendation as it could be something obscure that receives searches but is not profitable.

If it's related to any kind of product or service then I would say yea go for it.

On the other hand, if it's a brand name or some spoken phrase or saying I would pass, there are better options available.

it's product related, geo/adjective/flights.com

You've made a good start. That site would get good traffic if it's high up Google's ranking.

Now you need to do competition research. So Google the keyword, and try and get a feel for whether it'd be hard to get onto the first page (i.e. look at intitle and inurl count, PR of the various sites, etc)

not hard at all to rank on the first page, at least this is what i figure from my research
This is a search result by using the google search on the domaintools website ( for not using my tld google search engine)
Results 1 - 10 of about 68 for "xxxxx(geo) xxxxx(adjective) flights". (0.16 seconds)
And on my own tld google
Results 1 - 10 of about 6.410 for "xxxxx(geo) xxxxx(adjective) flights". (0,21 secunds)

I guess google is showing different result depending on the country. i'd like to see some results from google.com. anyone can point me to a tool that can help me with that?

and this is the google adwords keyword Tool

Could this be different dependin' on my ip? i mean the global search volume, not the local, coze local will be different for sure

If you'd like to see results from Google USA, just use Google.us.

Another option, albeit a more time-consuming one, is to use VPN software that fakes a US IP address. Get Behind the Shield! Hotspot Shield by AnchorFree is the best-known free VPN.

google.us has the exact same result as my local tld
"Results 1 - 10 of about 6,410 for "xxxxx(geo) xxxxx(adjective) flights". (0.27 seconds) "
but i see a whole lot of "Sponsored Links", 11 to be exact
using anchor free i get about same results
Results 1 - 10 of about 6,380 for "xxxxx(geo) xxxxx(adjective) flights". (0.27 seconds)
and the same amount of Sponsored Links

Global would be the same for everyone.

If you want to see different local numbers in the keyword tool, look for the line at the top that says "Results are tailored to [wherever you are]" and click the "Edit" link next to it.

For different localized search results, try the adwords ad preview tool:

https://adwords.google.com/select/AdTargetingPreviewTool

Set the location using the dropdown at the upper right. This shows search results AND advertisers in that location.

thanks so much. Results are tailored to English, United States Edit, this setting was was ok. for the advertiser, they seem to be enough. I'll buy it when i'll have some time to spare for working on a mini-site or something so that i can get it ranking in google, cose there's no point in buying it just to leave it there undeveloped, it's not a gold mine, but with some litle work i guess i can make a steady income from organic visitors
