I am awaiting payment on one domain, so it is tricky to say whether I've sold 4 or 5 domains:)

The money hasn't started rolling in yet, but reducing inveentory is the goal right now!! And not losing my shirt:) No one wants to see me shirtless.

Congrats, Keep it up. You're still learning so recouping some of your expenses through low figure sales is not so bad. At least it's not a total loss. As you go further in domaining things will start falling into place. I think you gain knowledge with every offer/sale/negotiation/loss/drop/... So these are more valuable than merely the dollar amount. You're also showing that you're reasonable and trying to find ways to stay afloat and not be an unreasonable dreamer and then things come crashing down on you. I'm impressed at your progress and wish you nothing but success. Congrats again.

Regardless of how the numbers add up, the excitement of the first few sales is a great feeling.

Most businesses take a number of years to become profitable, the trick is to set a budget and a goal. Work within that budget and you'll be ok. Exceed your budget and you might become part of the fire sales we so often see on namepros. The trick is to work within your budget, not to run out of funds, and be patient.

Great Advice we all need to hear every once in a while. Thanks!

Thank you! I am impulsive, a negative that has gotten me a few extra domains;) I am fairly well rounded, I think . . . jack of all trades master of none! I like to gamble, and as the saying goes, once the money goes in the middle it is no longer yours! I am confident if I had NOT registered my first bunch of domains for 2 years and added privacy, I would be in much better shape to climb out of the hole! Now it is about selling most of my domains that are sellable for something to help offset and minimize loss . . . as you stated!

I have definitely not applied this very solid advice! Now I am working harder to untangle myself!!

Do you typically put them on EBay as buy it Now? If you start an auction how long do you put it up for?

I like the buy it now bc they can run for 30 days! I would do a 7 or 10 day auction if I were to auction a domain. If you know you will take X for it, and are happy at Y, a BIN makes sense on the eBay platform.

Well done @Want2learn
do you want to start selling mine!
You should have seen some of the turkeys I had at the start. Some of them have still to drop.
I couldnt even give them away.

Like you I went with two feet in. I'm a competent gambler...(thanks to aiden massey.) Enough to get my accounts closed by paddy power ladbrokes etc (small stakes btw.) but domaining is a completely different kettle of fish that I've yet to crack.
With domaining I backed a few losers like buying the domain in .net and .org etc. It was bad enough the domain was crap in .com
So what you've achieved gives me hope for the future with some of the other horses I've backed.
Ps if you ever want to chat about the nags send me a pm. I lost interest a long time ago cos i couldnt gamble, but i still keep an eye on it from time to time.

@John0 Something you said gave me an idea. For the folks here that see shades of grey this might be enjoyable. What if you brought your ugliest of ducklings out!! Say your ten worst domains. Maybe among us there might be something you have that I like and vice versa.

There is a trading forum here but it wasn't very active. Anyways if you like, PM me your ten worst domains and I'll do likewise and maybe we can make a trade.

If you like ill flesh out some of my thoughts!!

Lol some of the ones I'm waiting to drop are trademarked. I even contacted the well known gaming company after finding out that it was a very bad move here on namepros and they didn't want them. However it is still a TM and I learned a very costly lesson. My own fault and I should have known better.
