Solar domain opinions wanted.

Hello,
i have jumped on the solar bandwagon a bit late im afraid, I think it will pay off in the future along with anything along the lines of green,eco,electric, hybrid, wind, etc. i got to thinking however... about solar. I think solar is techniquely called photo-voltaics which means electricity from the sun. What are the chances that the keyword will be PV _____ as much as it is Solar ___ . I mean i know the two terms go hand and hand, but i wonder if Pv by itself will ever catch on. In my opinion it seems that humans tend to use catch phrases that are short and simple. But maybe im getting a little too caught up in it. give me your opinion please.

I think your getting way to caught up in it. "Green" is the buzz word. and Frankly, yes - your late to the game. There are a few nice nitches you could probably dig for - but its a tough gimmick finding regs and flipping for solid profits.

yeah, i dont see photo-voltaics becoming a mainstream word. there are still good "solar" domains out there if you look for them (or are willing to pay for them)

i think dont be afraid to buy an aftermarket name ,,,,,, this trend will continue !!!

Marketers determine the branding, while scientists develop the technology...the public facing names of green technology aren't those that come from the lab, so keep that in mind. There are a core set of terms that will be publicly facing: green, hybrid, solar, etc

I sold a few solar, fuelcell, hybrid, nana domains followed by car, van, motorcyles, plane etc I had about 40 in all - sold a few in 2005 for $30-80 a few in 2008 for $100-400; however, I know of others with similar domains that did considerably better than me in their sales. I don't do sedo or other aftermarkets so i usually miss out on those types of sales - best one i have now is NanoWagon.com and SolarChopper(s).com i think...

IMHO, each time I've had to explain my choice, it's never turned out to be worth anything...
