.tv So Many Sales - So little reporting - Is this the next stage?

I know I am not the only one to realise just how many names are being bought/traded in .TV every day/week/month.

And yet so very few deals actually become public knowledge.

I have been after six names this week -

Two I bought for reg fee for five years in advance each.

One I discovered was sold for several thousand without public disclosure (and I now have absolutely no chance of owning it)

One I discovered was sold for a few hundred without any ceremony just a few days ago.

Two I bought direct from enom at 'premium prices' (several hundred each) - and both I have no interest in letting the world know about.

Of course, there are still many smaller purchases going on (indeed I bought the odd one or two names myself this week such as Polski on 'spec') but I see so much else happening - and without any fanfare.

Does this new state of affairs mean we are entering, or have already entered, a 'normal' extension place. A place where a sale of several thousand is NOT such big news anymore.

Or should we still strive to highlight every sale we hear about?

Maybe the reason is that people here are reporting only enduser sales or/and sales mainly at Sedo (but not in auctions).
But I think that maybe reporting of other (private) sales would be good for promotion of the extension.

And be sure, when I'll make my first high xxxx or something in xxxxx range sale everybody will know it. I even buy that banner place on the main page to announce the sale lol

It is not unique to .TV, this is basically true with most extensions. The domain sales that are reported are normally from public venues.

As someone who deals with end users, I rarely report sales unless it is on a public venue.

I had the opportunity to buy a Florida geo .TV for $200 once. The city has a population in excess of 200K but I passed because my wife didn't want to spend that much on another domain and admittedly it would be a challenging development because it is not the prettiest of cities (at least compared to some that I have developed). It ended up getting auctioned off for peanuts but I can see a geo domain investor has it listed for sale for $7500. I guess I'll never own that domain now...

Most sales aren't reported in all extensions.

most domain sales are held undisclosed (mostly big sales) because public should not know about it since many troubles may come to a seller after some nasty people figure out your identity and use the info for doing bad things. most people would want to share but why get very probable problems?
I think many understand what I mean.
