discuss Smartphone.com for $100k. Is it cheap?

I just saw a post on FB by a broker that the domain name Smartphone.com is for sale by it's owner at $100,000.

I initially thought that it was cheap but then, some of the other domainers argued that the name may be outdated in the next 3-4 years.

What are your views on this pricing and why?

Aren't all phones Smartphones nowadays so yes somewhat outdated even now.

Not sure but I think Samsung used to own this or maybe Smartphones.com?

Almost everyone nowadays has a smart phone, so yes 100k is a fair price now. Still, the technology is getting forward with huge steps, so what's the value in the future? Is this domain name a good investment if you buy this a long-term investment? Is there going to be a phone in the near future what is going to take the lead at this industry?

Most teenagers have no idea what a smartphone is because they don't know what it's like to have a phone that doesn't have internet and apps.

The term 'smart' has a limited shelf life as an adjective.

About 90% phones are already 'Smart' these days, so that makes the use of word 'Smart' in 'SmartPhone' somewhat redundant. As an investor, I wouldn't pay more than 2500 for it.

The word smart will be replaced with terms like AI when smart becomes smarter.

Cell phones will double as AI devices when you walk into your home.
Right now homes are being called smart homes so it's a 50/50 gamble if smart phone stays or the term phone will be replaced completely with something like smart controller, A I something etc.

There are places in the world where you cannot get on the subway without a smart phone to scan for entry. Seems because not everyone will want a cell phone so there will also be devices that act similar as the controllers for kids to unlock the house etc.

That said I don't use my cell phone for calls any more I use DUO almost exclusively to video call now. In my circle of friends and family duo is almost automatic now. So what do we call it when almost all calls are videos instead of calls, or even projections etc.

smart phone has a limited shelf life at this point, it is bound to get replaced at some point.
