advice Singular or plural comparison for geo domain

Is registering a geo domain like city + shop a good idea,
given that city + shops is already taken?
I think city + shops probably gets more searches than the other one.
However, I believe city + shop is better as a brand.
And the word shop is very general and not tied to a specific service.
I want to sell it outbound

Cab be used as a brand or redirect.
There are the same cit+(shops,shopping and mall)

Oh I see, like a directory of shops in a city?
I'm not sure it's the kind of name that would be sought after these days. I think people would probably just do a search for the kind of shop they want in a particular city, and go straight there, unless they're considering a shopping trip to a certain area and want to see what's there.
I don't think anybody compiling directory sites would be big spenders on domain names.
