Should I get on Afternic?

Hey guys, I've had some of my domains at SEDO and they really haven't gotten any interested (most likely because I'm a newb and my names aren't the best).

Still some names do have potential.

I was wondering if I should pony up the $20 and head over to Afternic.

Are domainers the one's that go there or do end users show up?

Do you think I should do this

I actually cancelled my membership there. However, to be fair to Afternic, many people have had positive experiences there. I believe Afternic is a better place to buy domains than to sell them. Just my $.02.

IMHO just the use of afternic bazaar and the free bazaar bucks to use on afternic bazaar make the subscription worth it.

My experience with Afternic is amazing

I sold dotORG.info for $200 on AfterNic.

I even have no AfterNic account, the ex-owner has listed the name on AfterNic, and the offer email be sent directly to me. Took the offer happily and AfterNic also gave me a free seller account which worths $19.5 ...

I regged the name for $0.25, try to sell it on DP, DNF for $20 - $30, no one interested, then .... $200, big ROI!

BUT the $60 escrow cost does suck... :yell:

I've actually sold many more domains at Afternic than at Sedo. I think the ratio is about 5-10:1. don't ask me why. You usually get our $20 back with your first sale.

Afternic is either the second or first domain sales site for resellers on the internet, with all others a distant third plus. I don't know how you can seriously do business in the domain sales industry without doing both.

Guys... how is their rep ? Do they process everything fast ? How long does a nomal transaction complete ?

The escrow fees/turnaround aren't that great, but I just sold MyFights.com for $500 on there, so I'm happy with it. I got a call from my account manager there with an offer to help better price my names for the upgraded listings (where you have to pay 20% commission, but they promise better exposure.) so I'm sure when I call her back I'll start getting a few more offers. The bazaar is GREAT for small names, I sold WeblogRSS.com for mid xx, vHollywood.com for low-mid xx, all using my free Bbucks. Plus, you can use your NP$ to buy BazaarBucks.

I've referred a couple of people, and since you get ~$10.00 per referral, you get your money back after only 2. (You can always ask for someone's referral link if you're feeling generous, that how I got one of my referrals)

Afternic has definitely improved over the past couple of years, I remember when it was so slow that I cancelled my membership, but they got me back with a free appraisal and free Bbuck offer, so it looks like I'll see where they go in the next year.

I haven't had any offers on my domains at Afternic yet, several on SEDO, but I've found the Afternic Bazaar is a great way to do some portfolio cleaning-up. I've sold about 10 names there already, but the pricing has to be very aggressive.

IMO the Bazaar is worth the membership fee. Good luck!

Afternic is owned by BuysDomains/NameMedia. If you are paying Afternic, you are paying BuyDomains.

I have had two mid-xxx sales on Afternic, including one this month.
I feel that they are definitely worth the $20 annual fee.

I was with Afternic for a year but went ahead and let my membership expire.. I never recieved an offer on any of my domain names for sale. They did seem to get more 'views of offer' than at Sedo though.
