I have to single letter gTLD domains that I am about to let drop. The renewal is $140. I originally bought them for very cheap and this is the first renewal.

Should I renew? Just looking for opinions. I have 8 days to decide.

yeah... but that's okay.. it just means they won't be around long if they ask XXX to renew doamins
simple as that
its a good thign if most ngtlds comit suicide like this.

most cctlds are not worth the renewal fees too
.al is one of cheapest around
if you do transfer from webhost to host.al
its virtually .com price

I keep around 15 or so 3l.co too cause its liquid
but $17 renewal for .co is a lot too
still.. its one of lowest among cctlds
anyway.. but .co is special.. its in category apart.. so u cannot compare to other cctld

other than this.. I am still contemplating if I Should renew
~10 LL and NN .rs
willl porbably keep the LL and drop NN
its almost $20 per renewal
sucks

Most end users are clueless single letter .com's are out there. The ones that came off the reserve lists got priced at $250-$500.

There are still some $75-$150 grandfathered ones out there, depending on the extensions.

They are not true single letters, and are not as rare as you think, they have very little sell thru to date. Hopefully more consumer education will change that.

I think some of the registries are struggling. I just read that .irish is coming out. At least .directory is generic.

.irish was acquired by donuts from the original operators who no longer wanted to operate it.

It launched 5 months ago, and has about 2,000 registrations to date.

I will not renew. .directory ... 9 chars. If I were you I would try to buy any 4L for such money( non chip of course ).

At the wnd of the way, it depwnds on your believe that in one year, that 280 would turn to a nice profit

FYI, there are FIVE other directory single letters freely available to hand reg in the same price class as the ones you own, actually cheaper at AlpNames $117ish per year. Unless there was a specific end user who needed your letters, I see this as a tough sale. Renew $140 + initial $20, there's just not a lot of room for you to profit there

Unless of course you are doing active outbound to users who WOULD like your letters. I feel ya though, I am in similar boat dropping ~$30 renew LL ccTLDs, makes me sad

the sold prices in your post suggest renewing but only you can make that decision based on your budget etc and whether you can still return a profit on it if you sold it after renewing it - but what if it didn't sell it this coming year after renewing it?
what then? or you could buy 14 x .com domains for the price of that one renewal? or it might sell well if you renew it? who knows

If you have to ask then...

What everyone seems to miss is the relatively small number of actual domains sold.

Just because NameBio has a number of domains listed doesn't mean you should pay a high renewal fee if you can not afford it.

The chance of selling it is probably still relatively small, depending on the tld, and the return could be too.

Not all are desirable, and will be sold, and if they are will they allow you to get back the renewal fees.

A yearly renewal fee of $140 is very steep.

How many years will you keep paying fees before you sell, if ever, and for how much?

one of the reasons .com domains are a good buy because of the cheap approx $10 renewal fee

I am in agreement. I will sell off 100 other domains that will far cover the cost of those two. The extension is long but I think possibly useful. I will renew.

R.directory
Q.directory

You can transfer both to Namesilo.com , both will cost you only : $206.94

Just my personal opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

Don't like that dot directory as a whole.
To me it only makes end-user sense if it's descriptive like immo.directory or phone.directory.. etc..

and even then it's too long and confusing people. billboard fail. IMO still better option is immodirectory.com or even hyphen immo-directory.com.

BUT:
As it's super short before dot it may fit into investment and domainer/reseller class.

Sell one, renew the other?
